Mentioning football around non-football fans and the very first thing they bring up is simulation.

Next time someone talks about rugby around me I'm just going to fly into a rant about the tackle-ball rules

I see the chiefs are getting in shark for faking an injury to gain an advantage in scrums in the super rugby thingy now. Lol

But rugby players don't cheat or act, I know because the die hard supporters say so. Thinks back to Andy Haden in Wales.

In this weeks episode of the Keydashians, John explains to Max that Panama is a real country, not just a hat name. Johns lawyer gets in touch and tells John to trust him and that his funds are quite safe, no one will find out any dirt. Max later asks Daddy if he could go on yet another holiday. Somewhere warm and humid with lots of jungle and perhaps a large waterway. John suggests perhaps Panama might be a good choice.

The Phoenix not being invited to the end of season party across the Tasman. It is this type of childish behaviour by the FFA that really makes us feel welcome and give the FFA so much shark via the social media. And they wonder why?

Was a bit frustrated the other day but think it was more the builder they use being unreliable and difficult to get hold of than them not dealing with things. Credit where it's due, they have now agreed to some things we didn't expect to get (and didn't even ask for), sounds like the builder has talked them into some extras to make his job bigger. Fingers crossed it gets done now and doesn't flow through to a rent increase!

Part 1 is bringing around a new oven - we expected the landlords to try and repair the old one but it's so old they unexpectedly agreed to replace it. "Either Thursday or Friday evening" came and went, didn't hear anything on Thursday then apparently there was "one emergency job after the other" yesterday. Now "10am Saturday" has been and gone. Got football this afternoon so if he hasn't turned up by about 12.30 I'm just going to have to go and I almost hope he turns up to find noone here and he can't do the job.

The other things are nothing major - things like a tap that doesn't work and few minor jobs like that. If we could just get a plumber they would come the day we called and fix it in 5 minutes but instead we have to wait for weeks on end for this arsehole handyman the landlords want to use who is not a plumber and probably won't even be able to fix it anyway. Presumably he's dirt cheap but I guess you get what pay for.

Long for the day I can just deal with these things myself.

Edit: The instant I hit save the phone rang and it was him saying he's just picking up the oven now. Fingers crossed then.

Success, he turned up with the new oven. Needs an electrician to install it though of course so that will have to wait till Monday or Tuesday.

After being used to paying $1.66 per litre at the petrol pump in Gisborne for the last 10 days, coming back to Upper Hutt to see the cnuts are still charging $1.89.99 cents per litre. Greedy fudgeen bastards. 23 cents per litre more down here and we have the petrol storage tanks/terminals not 12 miles from our own doorstep at Seaview.

Petrol is generally more expensive throughout Wellington than other regions - there a dearth of petrol stations and none of the cheap brands like Gull, also I'm guessing cars just aren't as used or as important as they are in other regions. Definitely not in Wellington city itself.

When members of your "family" say they are heading up to town for a quiet afternoon and younarrange to meet with them and their kids, only to arrive to find them plus other members of the "family" getting ready to go for a bike ride.

Then said members of the family get fudgeed off with you when you say you only brought enough provisions for your babies for a few hours and you wont be hanging around until after their big family (minus us) bike ride to have a late lunch.

If we were actually informed of your plans that you made with others we may have been able to work around that and meet later on. Dont  guilt trip us when we say we're leaving because our babies wont last without sleep or food while you go off enjoying yourselves.

I can relate to that. Afewdays ago my wife cooked a meal for 5 adults and 5 kids only for one couple and their 3 kids to bugger off before it was served up for no real reason, same guy got fudgeed off with me for mowing his mothers 1/4 acre section because it needed doing, apparently as I found out later, he used to get paid by his mother for doing it and he missed out on the money which was a considerable amount. There are some things one does in this world because the need doing and you dont charge your mother money for doing it.

I disagree it's perfectly acceptable to charge your mum to mow her lawn... If you're 12 years old.

In relation to that, my 4 yo grandson when he was last up came to me and said 'Papa, I've swept all the leaves up in the back drive with your sweeper mower. can you buy me some lollies?'

I have this lawnmover looking device that has just brushes and sweeps up the leaves and he thinks it a bloody great big toy for him to play with since he can't touch the lawn mower. I thought to myself 'Well kid, I would have bought them for you anyway being a grandkid but the fact you saved me a job, I'll by you a Cadbury factory." Don't think my son was impressed by what I did buy but I appreciate the fact my gransdon is being raised in a manner that if you want something, you sometimes have to give something to get it.

That's awesome JV.

He has an attitude of "I want something, I'll do a job to prove I deserve it before I ask".  Can't really expect much more, and at 4 that's astounding.

I previously mentioned a bad tackle that sidelined me for up to 8 weeks. Now it;s for the rest of the season as this Thursday I head into surgery for two screws and metal plate to be put in my foot to repair the bone and ligament damage one bad tackle has done.

Watch your tackles lads...please...

Sorry to hear that. Pretty disgusting behaviour for a social amateur game. Understand everyone still wants to win no matter how low level the game is, but mostly you're playing for fun and surely there's some sort of line. Sad that you often get these lunatics who think the objective is to "do someone" like what happened to you without understanding how that can actually affect people's lives beyond the 90 minutes.

We had a fairly bad tempered game on Saturday though thankfully no injuries. Opposition going berserk over everything. Need to accept it's division 8, so nobody is a qualified ref and nobody has done a referee course and often the guy has never even refereed before. Just doing a difficult job the best they can. You just have to do it when it's your turn, and generally people try and let the game flow and blow the whistle as little as possible because they're scared of causing even more arguments if they give their own team a decision. Nobody wants to volunteer their time on a Saturday to be repeatedly called a "fudgeing cod" because they were too far away to see for sure if was handball or who got the last touch without the help of a linesman etc.

Ref ended up having to force one guy to sub off at the end of the game for losing his shark when he was given a free kick.

Cheers - we used to have a guy who tried to scythe players in the last team I played for. We kicked him out of the team a few times but kept weaseling his way back in. It all ended when he tried to destroy someone but broke his own leg in 3 places...karma.

I think I may be done with playing, this was my 32nd season in a row. Maybe time to give coaching or reffing a crack.

Read Tony Veitches apology today.  Wow, it almost looks like he just wrote what everyone has been telling him he should have said 10 years ago, which totally sounds believable.

It couldn't have read more like he was doing what eh thought was right for his career and not what was right.

He still felt sorry for himself, it was more an apology to himself than to his ex partner.  Her Dad spoke out about it:

Apparently he's never actually apologised to her.

We've started fining people who swear at officials in the Nighthawks.  It seemed hypocritical when those of us involved in the Fever are ranting about the language in the ASB Prem while our team mates (never us) on a Saturday are abusing officials.  Seems to have worked as well.

Having said that.  Massive credit to the Olympic Gold team we played on Saturday.  Good spirits, fair officiating.  Just one dangerous tackle the only blight on the game and the player involved was apologetic straight away.

Made a visit to Happy Valley enjoyable.
