Had an small car accident a couple weeks ago (a ding at worst) which didn't do a lot of damage to my car but apparently wrote off the other person's car. I was technically liable for it (nose to tail) but the lady at the time said she felt responsible. The insurance company confirmed that I was liable so my insurance covered it and I had to pay the excess which was all good. Then today I get a call from the lady I crashed into and she was wanting to reimburse me for my insurance excess because she didn't have to pay anything and she got a new car out of it. I was pretty stunned and told her it's very kind of her but I'm fine with the liability sitting with me and having to pay for it myself but she insisted so I said I would settle for 50/50 and she agreed. Just crazy to be in a situation like that these days, and it blew me away a little bit.
