I had to delete the violence thread.

While some good and valid points were made, a few things cut to the bone and while I'm not a fan of censorship (unless you disagree with me of course) we need to remember this is a football site.

Plenty of others have scope for the deeper issues in society.

As a heads up the Western Sahara thread may be at risk as well.  I imagine use of Polisario already has it on the SIS watch list.

Errr, isn't this the 'other' topic area?

Yes, but that doesn't make everything 'Off' acceptable.

This is still the Fever forums and what is posted here can be interpreted as representing the Fever (and has been in the past).  Sometimes we need to keep that in mind.

There was some good stuff in that thread but the direction it started taking was entering an area that we felt was better avoided.  I have no problem with discussing the situation, just some tangents caused issues.

Hope you follow.

I didn't know that the Fever was such a homogenous group.

Easy to create a caveat for the forum e.g., "the opinions on this forum represent the varied views within the loose collection known as YF".

Anyone daft enough to say "YF believe that..." does not have a leg to stand on.

HarryHotspur, you seem to have forgotten the amount of media that came onto this forum around the time of the "bottle throwing" incident, and took random posts that were on here, and showed them as represeting the views of the whole group.

So yeah, i tend to agree with HN...even though i didnt see the violence thread?

Allegedly

Which is why a caveat should stop them doing that, or we take up miss representation with press council if the reporting does not acknowledge different views across the YF collective?

The Press Council?  Ha.

How about we just avoid the issue altogether by moderating stuff we feel is going too far?

Yes, that's a great idea, we'll do that.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Keep it up HN, Not censorship, just using some common sense. I know who to PM when I stuff up a message and it's too late for me to delete my input. I know i've typed some i've regretted as they didn't come across as I had hoped. Lonegunmen2008-01-29 18:43:11

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.
