steve earle is a sitter imo - you can go to him for everything from political rock to bluegrass

Billy Austin is an amazing anti-death penalty song and the guy writes melodies that stick

and if all that fails you can just open a bottle of something tasty and butcher the lyrics of copperhead road

with you on Paul Kelly, , The Pogues, Weller,

and amazingly no Clash yet!

but you are right most of us would still feel we'd missed someone good with a top 50

I don't know why but there a very interesting band to listen to. Go past the lyrics they are quite talented muso's and how can you hate a vocalist in a metal band who passionately likes  World of Warcraft.
