In no particular order.
1) Beastie Boys - Hot Sauce Commitee part 2
2) The War On Drugs - The Slave Ambient
3) Wild Flag - Wild Flag
4) Eleanor Friedberger - Last Summer
5) The Do -(can't do the symbol thing) - Both Ways Open Jaws
not sure about PJ and Kate B. But Kate Bush's album is too chilly to listen to at the mo.

Grrr I just don't see what all the fuss is about with the new PJ Harvey album. I adore her music, have seen her live. I'm just not that blown away by Let England Shake. What am I missing?

Probably only one album for me this year.

Again it involves Kanye..

Jay-Z & Kanye West - Watch the Throne

Also though, I discovered The Tutts album this year. Came out a few years back but I really enjoy it.
If you don't remember them, they released this song-
The Tutts - K
But they didn't release their album until about a year or two after the single so it didn't do so well.

And of course -
Justin Bieber - Under The Miseltoe
Not a proper album but looking forward to the one proper album coming out early next yearStefan2011-12-25 19:51:02

Listening to The Harrow and The Harvest by Gillian Welch (released Feb 2011) would put that up there

If I actually listened to this modern "music" that you yoofs bang on about, my top 5 would be this:

1. Justin Beiber - As Annoying As I Wanna Be
2. Katy Perry - I'm forever blowing Russell
3. Rebecca Black - It's December - gotta get down on Christmas/Santa
4. Lady Gaga - Meat is Prada
5. FMAOL - ROFL, FTW, IBTL

Top 5 albums of the 1700s:

1. Telemann - I can do lots of twirly, twiddly notes on my treble recorder
2. Albinoni - I wonder if anyone will remember me in about 400 years time?
3. Handel (George F) - Never mind the bollocks - here's my organ works.
4. Vivaldi - Music for some pretentious chav to popularise and the National Bank to rip off with a black horse.
5. Bach (Johann S) - At least I got popularised by some hot young thing with a white violin.
