I know that. nothing for me. I know alot of people who use Utorrent. i was wondering how safe it is..

It's fairly safe. As long as you're not a muppet with an open firewall or anything like that. And don't torrent trojans and other stuff. If you're really scared, virtualise it and run it in a virtual environment with a one port firewall and stuff. Or just hide in a basement and wait for the world to explode.

If you have some form of decent router, you should be safe (unless you're a DMZ)

Also, ADSL isn't going to get you "good" torrenting as the upstream is pretty crap.

We use Utorrent at home and have no problems with it. You just have to be savvy with it. Download ones with heaps of seeds, good comments etc etc. Ive seen a few that say in comments do not download has trojans etc..  Otherwise perfectly sweet. Other than the illegal, ripping off massive corporations and artists side of things..

Its funny how some people justify it. I'm not fussed either way. But a muso friend of mine refuses to download music because he wants to recognise their musical value, but couldn't care less about software for personal use or movies!

You get mixed speeds no matter who your on.

Put simply, It's how many people are willing to send you the file.

The more seeds the quicker the download.
