The Government really screwed up this time. I wonder if this would have happened had it been a rugby game. Pathetic.

Well the AB's played in the same finals as Fiji, Why were they not brought home before the tournament started?( Or even sent in the first place?) I'm disappointed Winston, no consistancy. Come to think of it, the USA & the French were also involved and politically we're not friends with them either.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Let's see what happens with the Fiji rugby team for the Wellington Sevens.

I bet that there will be no issues with either visas for the players or with the teams participation in the event.
One rule for egg chasers and another for everyone else.

We've actually got enough members to register as a party. . .  We'd need 110,000 votes to get the 5% threshold . . .

My vote goes to the FFP (Football First Party)

Main Platforms:
TVNZ will have a dedicated football channel
Compulsory 4 week holiday during the World Cup
Subsidised admission to All White and Phoenix Games
SPARC funds will be dedicated solely to football in preparation for World Cup (rugby and yachting have had their turn)
Ricki Herbert to be made Governor General
The immigration points system is waived for any person with footballing skills
All towns with population of more than 100 must have at least 5 football fields (subsidies will be provided for their construction)
all universities will run degree courses in football science

Voting National next time in protest at this? So what happens to your plan when National (on the side of politics that takes a harder line on immigration than the left), just as Labour did, have to form a coalition government? They then team up with NZ First (they said they'd partner *anyone* to be part of the government) and Winston keeps his job. After you vote, the parties don't come back to the electorate to have their coalition deals approved.

in all seriousness though, what better way to get publicity for yellow fever than to create a political party hahaha!

also, I like Winston Peters, I think he's absolutely hilarious, he might be a w**ker but at least he's got some sense of personality haha

I used policy in the loose sense of the word. I'm not actually sure that they have any.

Hi Lonegunmen - it doesn't matter who is running the country, as both major parties are so alike, and obviously one eyed [rugby], the ONLY solution to this ridiculous and pathetic state of affairs is for the next home game, [next week] to pack out the stadium. This should send a message to ALL politicians, that using sport to achieve an International statement is not only pathetic, but it does not have the mandate from the people, and more importantly, the supporters. The inconsistency of the so called guardians of our country is 'third world', and only adds to our International embarrassment.
I suspect that sour grapes are on the menu, with confirmation from some of the biased anti England comments on radio sport today, given that Dad's Army has shown how NOT to waste $50 million on AC's, moreover play as a TEAM [both on & off the field in all aspects of life!]

National and ACT support more user pays for sports teams. This would mean higher charges for use of playinmg fields and facilities (the user should pay full cost). The grassroots sport would suffer. Dont let one issue cloud longer term views!

(Yes I am an active member of the Labour party).

I'm not a member of any party but it's local government that are forcing sports clubs to charge huge subs for facilities and ground hire. They fail to realise the value that sport plays in society. If sport becomes expensive to be involved in then you are faced with health and social problems.

Central government don't support grassroots sport they just want to be associated with glory sport at the elite level. Funding for clubs is at the beck and call of the gaming trusts whose funds are drying up.

Let's just say that National will tickle your chin 'till you roll over and then give you the most savage beating you've ever had. You'll wake up bloodied and confused..."but...but they were so nice..."

Not really gave much thought to who i might vote for at the election ,Key looks presentable enough but incredibly  naive and transparent  and the Clark mob seem very tired worn and somewhat  smug!
As an compulsive attention seeker i strongly recommend being a floater(for want of a better term)and watch them sing and dance for you  right up until polling day!
