Yes Dragons, now its up to Warriors to beat the Panthers, who should be tough they are fighting to not get the wooden spoon.

Good results over the weekend, let's hope we put away the Panthers this weekend (they won't take it lying down, I'm sure).

hopefully with a win on sat nite we can secure not one but 2 home playoff games (providing we win the 1st playoff ofcourse!). Mind you i dont want to discredit the panthers as they wont be easy beats at home, coming off 2 big away wins

Craig Gower's last game as well, so they'll be fired up. Still reckon we'll do them.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Looks like we'll be facing the dogs in the first round of the playoffs just depends on whether it's home or away.

Three for me, and two for them.

There are a fair few assumptions underlying this prediction.

We got Eels on friday night at 8:30

Eels were crazy today, scoring at will. Extremely dangerous players Tahu, Inu, Hayne, Grothe and really good forwards Hindmarsh, Moimoi, Cayless and Mateo. Smith can be awesome but can be equally poor. But the Warriors really need to watch Inu, Tahu and Hayne.

Really worrying after poor performance against Panthers, Price couldn't get going, and the rest of forwards didn't look up for it either, luckily Gattis was really good, Byrne, Witt too. But if the Panthers didn't have that rubbish Gower stinking up their attack they could have run over the Warriors.

i cant believe we are letting Gattis go. Criminal.

I take back my comments on Gatis at the start of this thread...he really has stepped up in the last couple of months (maybe he's been reading this thread!). I actually prefer him to Fien at the moment. Disasterous first 30 mins on sat nite, but awesome 6 mins b4 the 1/2. Cant wait til fri nite comon Warriors!!!

Vatuvei is gone for the season according to the news-nasty looking injury
Permalink Permalink

Yeah he is out for the season, he had been playing very well in the 2nd half of the season

Far out, we need Vatuvei, he's the man. Will Ah Van take his place?
Permalink Permalink

I would say so, he is not a bad

I would say so, he is not a bad player and he can catch a high ball

I'd rather Wairangi came in (playing Center) to the team and Byrne moved to wing. He had a really good game versus the Panthers. He (Koopu) was suppose to start that game but Byrne was a late change. So it would be 1. McKinnon 2. Crokett 3. Koopu 4. Mannering 5. Byrne...

But I think he is a good impact player, I think the warriors bench has been superb this season so I say keep him on th bench and play Byrne centre Ah Van on the wing. He does his job well and hasnt made any big mistakes. Unlike playing with Koopu he has not really played there all season and too just chuck him in there? Well im guess we will find out

Any chance the warriors will keep Byrne if Crokett goes to jail?

Parra 12-10 warriors, logan swann had 2 unmarked men and didnt pass which would have made it 10-0, paddy ah van didnt have the best game, not very happy but parra took their chances unlike the warriors, next game (if we are still there) put byrne on the wing and wai at centre

I don't like Logan Swan, He reminds me to much of the old Warriors...He makes tonnes of mistakes and gives away alot of penalties, just like the old warriors.

The morale of the story is

DEFENCE wins games, and that is what happened last night. You can bag Logan Swann and Ah Van. but all players make mistakes and it is going too happen

Couldn't put them away that was the key. What was it 6 sets in a row down their end of the field, pretty much camped out in their half for the first 20 of the 2nd half. Couldn't finish them off. Nothing wrong with our defence we did well to restrict them to 12 but we should of had plenty more than 10 and they'll know that.

It'll be alot harder from here on in with no more home games but i still believe we can do it.

Three for me, and two for them.

I think playing Ah Van was a mistake, Wairangi should have started, both teams played very good defence the difference was mistakes at crucial times. We looked overawed and nervous and I think we should have gone with experience.

Swann being held up was a turning point and the momentum shifted, when the Warriors looked to be getting back into the game Ah Van looked like he was getting to the line and lost the ball, then followed it up with a huge knock on.

Still not over but we need to do better, completion rates were really poor at 40% at one point
