What’s happening at AllBirds? 
Surely Browny still believes in the fundamentals of his product. Have they hit market saturation or too many knockoffs? Or just a fashion change?

In the herald or stuff the other day was an article on 5 companies which have crashed since covid. All birds was one and reading between the lines talks of law suits in America arounding something to do with the IPO and the crash afterwards, not looking very good when Americans start suing

American's sue at the drop of a hat, just because lawyers are fishing around to see if anyone is interested in a lawsuit doesn't mean there's substance behind it. Often they're just looking for a company to settle so that it doesn't drag on.

When All Birds came to market they were unique and they also were a hit with certain celebrities and wealthy clients, now there's dozens of companies making natural footware to compete with them. They're no longer unique in the marketplace and the buzz has worn off.

I'm sure Brown is still a very welathy man, but the value of his shares in all birds are now something like 5% what they were at their peak.

Here you go Ryan, anyone think that A2 milk of that 5 would be worth a punt?

I looked at the suit, it seems really speculative and opportunistic, the law firm is still on the look out for a lead plaintiff. My guess is they're only doing it because there's been a few successful derivative claim suits recently and they hope that All Birds will settle.

The monopoly/oligopoly kills innovation and it’s very hard to fight it.

I’d guess though that they were new and hot. Now there is this lawsuit hanging over their main USP too and that’s probably enough for people to head elsewhere. It’s a luxury product at a time of belt tightening. It’s not a good look to be flaunting expensive sneakers that may be environmentally friendly, when it was such a win a few years ago…even if the lawsuit is bogus.

As they try new product lines and expansion into the states, their costs are going up substantially but sales simply aren't. The end result is increasing and significant losses.

Essentially a one product, online business that tried to transition into a brick and mortar multi-product clothing line and has failed.

With that said, buying All Birds shares was my best trade ever! Bought at IPO ($15) and sold for $24 a few days later. (Would've sold earlier and for more but Hatch wouldn't let me). Knew it would be a hype stock so just rolled with it.
