Football followers....a Wellington-made webcom has just hit the net...and the connection to the Phoenix I hear you ask...

...one of the main characters is named Perry Terepiso's...need I say more?

Anyway, I urge you to check it out:

The latest episode is below:

And to keep up to date and catch up with all the previous episodes, join the facebook page:

This is made by a group of Wellington lads on no budget, it fits into the genre 'sh*tcom' and features many injokes and references only Kiwi's will get...check it out...it's so bad it's good!

So you didn't even make it past the opening credits!

Why would anyone make a web clip, on no budget, full of in jokes only relevant to a small market, and then put heaps of credits at the beginning?

Internet content is all about immediacy and accessibility. The only reason you'd put credits in such a clip (as far as I can see) is to either:

( a ) acknowledge the contribution of people without whom making it would not have been possible - as a way of thanking them; and/or

( b ) in the hope that if the clip somehow went viral and got noticed that someone who could make it worth the maker's while would find it easier to contact the makers.

Both reasons ( a ) and ( b ) can both be more than adequately fulfilled by putting the credits at the end.

Any clip with credits at the beginning is highly likely to get me closing it and not bothering to watch it. I was going to check it out when I got home but I don't think I will bother now you've told me there's over 30 seconds of opening credits.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

Hey mate. Thanks for your thoughts. It's a mini sit-com...so there are opening and closing credits just like a normal sit-com. Each episode tells a story and is only 5 minutes long. Essentially it's a 30 minute sit-com compressed into 5 minutes. Check it out, would be interested to hear your constructive view points. Cheers.

Pack of harsh bastards!
Less than 15 seconds of opening credits.

Mind you, the comments made me watch it (it's only 5 minutes)

Sound and light quality leave a lot to be desired and detract from the out.

Good on you for having a crack. Not sure if you're involved with the 48 hour film thingy, but that would be worth cutting your teeth on. Lots of examples of neat dialogue and effective editing (+ crap ones) and done in just 48 hours (I suspect you don't spend much more time on each of your episodes).

You've got a wee way to go, and the name play on Terry Seripisos is not particularly hilarious, and the story line appears a little ho-hum (and didn't get me scrambling to look at other episodes).

Keep at it, but don't expect those used to Mad Men and the Wire to fall over themselves in adulation.

And yes should be in a different part of the forum.

I know, I know, its serious!

Thanks mate...yes certainly the production values are very low and episodes are shot quickly.

We place this is a new genre called sh*tcom...so precisley those who download the latest eps of The Wire, MadMen and whatever the latest American craze is may not appreciate the bargin-bin feel of our little webcom!

Cheers for commenting.

Just because its got no or low production values doesn't excuse poor writing. Agree with Turfmoore have a look at the 48 hour stuff or even your fav movies. Spend more time on the story, get it solid before you shoot anything. Do you storyboard?

Not funny. Poor sound. Poor quality. I know you say it's so bad, it's good. But unfortunately this is just so bad.Luis Garcia2010-10-15 18:25:39

I like Entourage - make it like that.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight
