I'm listening to my 80's Technics component system and thinking it may be time to update to something more modern, and less sizeable (especially in our wee living room). Hmmmmmm...
If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I still got a Akai 3 stack system where each of the components is in a metal case.

So this...
I just got an 80s technics turntable from a friend to play me records, and it's fantastic. They don't make sh*t like that anymore.
Hooked it up to a modern amp I picked up, but had to use an old Technics one as a 'pre-amp' to get it going. Working a treat and the sound is great.
I love Technics.
My mate who works with all that stuff told me that Panasonic (who bought technics) are now resurrecting the brand and bringing out new Technics models, because people love it so much.
Angel From The Coast - Thin Lizzy
what a great song,from a great album
good times
Ended up getting a Sony mini/micro/macro/tiny system from their closing down sale, teamed with a Project Elemental t/t and Phono box... takes up next to no room, and everyone's happy (by everyone, I mean Mrs Surge).
Sounds decent too!
Tame Impala
Many people told me to listen to this, did not do so until just recently, been listening to the album "Lonerism".
Wow.
New deftones album is bloody good.
Gonna try and get in to the sold out beastwars show, been listenin to the new one
Listening to the Force Awakens soundtrack. John Williams is simply magnificent
Ihave the original soundtrack to episode 4, double CD. It too is awesome.
Phoenix City Podcast. That shark is AWESOME
The Hamilton original cast recording. It's amazing.
The Affectionate Punch by The Associates
When I bought the album, at the time of release, I played the whole thing through and thought it was genius. I didn't play it again until a couple of weeks ago.
It was released in August 1980.

What is the opposite of Thising this?
Weezer white album and Highly Suspect -Mister Asylum. Both great
Ella Fitzgerald, a 3 CD set called "Simply Ella". It proves Don Mclean was correct when in American Pie (The song C-Diddy, not the movie) he referred to the lady that sang the blues was when she passed away, as well as the obvious Buddy Holly reference.
The new Jordan Luck album could be an interesting listen.
Only just dawned on me... but could the Phoenix Foundation be named after MacGyver???
That would be all sorts of awesome if true
Pretty sure they did, yeah. Seem to recall that in an interview a while back.
Pink Floyd's "The division bell".
Siggy and Piney on Radiosport.
Faith No More - Sol Invictus. Damn that's a great album!
This soundtrack is just exquisite. Particular favorites Light of the Seven and The Winds of Winter - so haunting and ominous.
Neutral Milk Hotel
In the Aeroplane Over the Sea

Brilliant.
New album from Kurt Vile and Courtney Barnett.
Pretty decent.
Vile's vocal delivery reminds me a lot of Stephen Malkmus from Pavement.
The Affectionate Punch from The Associates.
Pavement.
The best known Flying Nun tribute band.
Listening to Lilly Hyatt. Daughter of the great John Hiatt. Came across her accidentally but loving it.
The dog, pacing around the house, waiting to go for a walk.
Daughter gets limited screen time. Usually on a Saturday. She was looking at YouTube, just now, and there were fits of giggles.
( Her favourite is Kyary Pamyu Pamyu... )
