A thousand years ago I wnt to one of their gigs. I am not wordsmith enough to describe how good it was.
Madness - B&B Man
Specials - Stupid Marriage
Chumbawumba - Tubthumping
10CC - Dreadlock Holiday
Toots & the Maytals - Beautiful Woman
Prince - Purple Rain album.
I saw them about 20 years ago in Finsbury Park, possibly the free Fleadh Fest they used to hold there? They played on the smaller stage & it was "Crusty Heaven". Lol.
I think Van M & The Pogues may have played that year too.
Actually The Pistols were there as well in '96.
You rcomment made me think of just such discos. I remember one , exactly like that where I first heard ABC. Terrible... but fun in a way.

Gojira - L'Enfant Sauvage
Fucking great.
Good metal, not bad metal.
Just a head's up Sugar's Copper Blue has been reissued and is finally on Itunes. There is a extra's album with lots of live tracks thrown on which is worth buying. Great to finally have this back after my last copy finally died.
I'm also going to buy Tuscon by Giant Sand this pay http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1XVJR1lTRg truely an awsome track
Lots of Weezer in anticipation of their tour in January. In particular, the Maladroit album.
Went and saw the "English Beat" last night.
Good nostalgia....love my ska....but
Much prefer the 1980 Dave Wakeling to 2012 version.....and no Ranking Roger
A shame we all grow old

So what modern "toons" are you listening to mate?
I read your post and thought of ska and great music. Anything else new tickle your fancy?
The new Jimmy Cliff album Rebirth is very good.
Produced by Tim Armstrong of Rancid.
Jimmy's best work in years.
