WikiLinks has just shown me how ignorant some people are. Oh, and how desperate some news companies are for a story. (Especially the New Zealand ones... shout out to stuff who've managed to keep at least one WikiLeaks story on the top of the page for about 2 months)

I'd prefer some interesting leaks like - something about a conspiracy would be nice? Not that I really believe in the "traditional" conspiracies.

It seems after threatening to release documents about banks, all the financial institutions are cutting him off. A good example of how one can't abuse their own power - somewhat ironic.

When wikileaks releases information on the status of the Bank of America, apparently it's quite juicy and in really, really bad state, info wikileaks has could collapse it. Depends how far he pushes the U.S government really.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Call me crazy but I was reading one of these cables this morning (Nothing else to do, lying in bed, laptop.) Seems the U.S. who heartedly believes NZ doesn't play a big enough role in the world (especially military wise - where they say even Fiji contributes more)

They also say this is in part due to the dismal state of our military. (They even give an example of some C-130 going to help Samoans after the Tsunami, and breaking down.)

Also, it seems the only way the Americans will accept an FTA is if we repeal the nuclear-ban.

Also interesting is that they even referenced letter to the editors in newspapers.

Shows how doing a little research for yourself can show what a failure our own news companies are.

How is he getting all the info anyway? Illegally I bet. Just an attention-seeker.

And also that MFAT believe that an FTA will give us almost no benefit whatsoever...

I'm actuallly suprised by the lack of suprises. Yes US drug companies want to sell to us and use influence to do so, yes Aussie insurance companies are behind the changes to ACC etc etc etc yes we told China we wouldn't see the Dalai Lama.

Unless you are a bit credulous there's not much in them really.

The Seppos only want to hang him high and dry because in their eyes it will help them deal with the fact that one of their own is most likely the sauce of the leaked information to Wikileaks, potentially someone in a high office.

If they can hold someone else accountable for their own lack of security and punish them in a rediculously heavy handed way then they will just to preserve their own image!

They already have the guy who is the leak. He is being held in solitary for over 6 months, getting treated like sh*t.

here.
