You know only Auckland would get it...do you seriously want your tax dollars going to bail out those pricks when they blow out their budget?

Pretty soon. Well as soon as our cities become real cities.
In NZ Lower Hutt, 100,000 souls, is a city.
In the real world Beijing, with 70 squillion souls is a city.

I hear the big-shots in Levin have been seriously contemplating a bid for the 2020 games...apparently Levin Domain is a world-class facility now...

Currently installing new hydroslides at the pools in Hamilton in preparation for 2020. Have it the same weekend as the V8's and the WRC, throw in a sheild challenge, and why not hold THE World Cup too, we'll get the lights installed at Weka Street.

I think Christchurch could do the Winter Olympics.
It's never been in the Southern Hemisphere before, so why not?

Would need some World class arenas, At the moment our Ice rinks aren't up to standard. Plus need Bob sleigh course, Luge et al. Also assuming that we can have Ski fields set up to standard too. Doubt we would ever bid.
