If you can get it in NZ grab yourself a bottle or two of Oban Whisky. Nice to see you've sampled Aberlour too. Another fine drop is Any Glenfiddich older than 12 years!

Laphroig  - of course
Talisker
Glen Morangie

not all currently in stock here (but i do have a couple of unopened Laphroig's for when the recession hits )

but i'm way out of my league next to your highland shrine

the triple peat sounds suitably epic

Talisker's pretty epic too, i find it almost peppery

Ashamed to say it, lads. I hate the stuff

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I'm partial to a drop of Glenfiddich 'Liquer' Whiskey.

Used to drink it when I lived in Scotland, but haven't seen it over these shores. Mind you, I probably haven't looked hard enough either.

agreed Jag, it lacks a bit of finesse, but after my Pedro effort flashed past the wrong side of the post  i thought I'd settle for a simple tap-in

I'm stayin with a mate here for a few weeks before I head home... he reckons he wants a bottle of scotch a week for rent, starting at  a $60 bottle and increasing $10 per week that I'm there... what a bugger I'll be there three weeks and get to drink half the rent lol

Glenfarclas Tasting session at RWS next Tuesday anyone?

The Great Glenfarclas
Wednesday 19 or Tuesday 25 March, 6.00 pm start, Cost $55.00 pp, Limit 27 places
As one of the great and classic Speyside whiskies, Glenfarclas commands respect. Glenfarclas is one of the richest styles, big and complex, with pronounced sherry character from the maturation mostly in first fill and refill sherry casks. It is a fabulous after-dinner malt, a famous tasting note describes it as going down singing hymns! Still in private ownership, six generations of Grant family have run the Glenfarclas distillery since 1865. Like the whisky, the six stills are amongst the largest in Speyside, and they are unusually fired by an external gas flame. The term grandiose comes to mind with Glenfarclas! We are extremely fortunate that the Glenfarclas portfolio has a very wide range of bottling ages. Our malt maestro Daniel Bruce McLaren-Moon will takes us through the following expressions: 105 Cask Strength 60.0%, 12 y.o., 15 y.o., 17 y.o., 21 y.o., 25 y.o. and 30 y.o. You will be able to make a detailed review of the effects of barrel maturation for different lengths of time. We expect this tasting to be popular and urge you make your bookings as early as possible.

When Hibs, went up, to win the Scottish Cup - I wisnae there - furfuxake!

So when i buy a glass of whiskey in NZ whats the exact measurement i get ?(and  i have been known to buy a drink despite the outrageous rumours put about certain Hibs supporters)

Lappys is expensive but what a lovely drop it is!

The answer to life's problems are rarely found at the bottom of a beer glass - but it's always worth a look.
