Makes the usual 4-6 hour wait at our A & E's almost insignificant.

if we didn't have so many gits going to A&E with minor ailments there wouldn't be such a wait.
But it just highlights the lack of medical staff we have in NZ, there aren't enough GPs for people and that's the only place people who can't afford $80 for after hours care can go.

Are you referring to the ones that wont take their kids to the Dr's because they have a cold and would be charged but rather go to the hospital because it's free?

True story this one.

Someone called 111 recently in Wellington and when asked if the patient was bleeding, the operator was told there was blood everywhere. When the Ambulance arrived with siren and lights going, they found the person had small minor cut similar to a paper cut on a  finger with naf all blood. Thus wasting the Ambulance personels time and effort and thus slowing up the process of someone really needing help.

You really have to wonder sometimes. I'd like to thank all our medical services for trying to help people. They just don't need situations as described above.
