"Asked whether he was aware "wog" was a slur, Mr Prosser said it was an acronym for "Western Oriental gentleman".
Various suggestions as to the provenance of "wog" - the one I think is closest is that it referred to the epithet "welcome Oriental gentlemen" and was a slur because they weren't actually considered welcome or gentlemen.
Still if you don't think it is a slur in 2013 then you have severe FITH syndrome.
