Capital Football Cancellations

Would be surprised if there are any games tomorrow. We must have been mad but we trained last night (at Te Whaea), possibly the only team in Wellington who did. Was pretty miserable. I wonder if Te Whaea was actually meant to be closed as it was the first time I'd ever seen the gate to the top carpark chained closed and the changing rooms locked.

We were supposed to train at St Pats but there was massive puddles all over the pitch.  Decided to call it since we cant really afford any injuries. 

Chances of KP3 being playable tomorrow?

Hoping it's not cancelled, supposed to be playing on Newtown Park

Surprised it's all still on tomorrow. Wilton Park should be beautiful.

"Due to large number of ground closures / restrictions there are a large number of cancellations / transfers" but they may not be indicated on the Capital Football website ?

some grounds may have paid the costs for todays games.

wilton not looking too good from my short stop as i was passing.

Raroa seems brownish but not sloppy mud (surprise)

and ben burn seems to have just kept itself from a complete mud bath i was told by some who played there.

wonder if Karori park has done it's usual mud factory

i await to see if the girls play tomorrow as i was hoping to catch a couple of games on my travels.

Played on Wilton this afternoon, it was a swamp. Surprised there was a game on it before us too.

i watched from the road as it was raining and i had no coat for about 15-20 when i saw the team in yellow score and the magpies heads drop.

i couldn't see that end so don't know if was a good goal or not but it was the nail in the coffin from a hard day at the office by the looks.

Aces, but about half the team are ex Magpies this season so you're forgiven for thinking it was them. Yeah that was a breakaway for 2-0 with not long to go when we were caught up the field pushing for an equaliser. We probably had the better of the second half and I felt a draw would have been fair but we have really struggled for goals over the last 4 games and couldn't put it away today. Eventually got one after their second but it was too late.

So only juniors that have cancellations, seniors are just some transfers and time changes.

No junior footy (holidays) and some grades playing midweek already..

Maybe a couple of grades, but I am picking just a heap of transfers instead. 

Yeah I think with kids not playing, they will try play as much as possible and transfer a lot to all the turfs!

Cap 2 postponed for the weekend.  Our first cancellation so been due one.

So looks like I was wrong, they have cancelled Grades 1, 2, 4, 8, 11, 13 and Masters 2.

remember to keep checking transfers right up until kickoff in case Upper Hutt masters decide at the last minute that they want to use the pitch you're scheduled to play on. Especially if you're on an artificial turf. 

Don't blame Upper Hutt for that fudge up. In the end no one played as the Miramar team they were due to play defaulted.

Hmm, what are the chances this weekend ends up as the first round of cancellations 65-75%? 

We've had 7-8 weeks of play this season for most grades... 

The weather has been average this week and Friday/Saturday looks like we've got the wind, the rain and no Phoenix!

Suspect Cap 9 will be good.  Three games already on turf so unless they need to free up turfs for other grades I'm expecting them to just move two games.

So no cancellations, only transfers through different grades

Just spotted the Elite have Happy Valley tomorrow.  After this rain and as a Southerly hits.

As you can imagine I was sympathetic to Adam and Dave.

WCC have posted that all their grounds are closed all weekend with the exception of artificial turfs. Capital football haven't updated yet but looks like it's all off.

Yes but if  WCC close the ground then surely capital football (and rugby etc) can't use it can they? Maybe the message means they are currently closed tonight but contact the organisers regarding the weekend, not very clear.

That WCC link above says "Please contact your Club or Sporting Code for an update on your training or competition fixture" and no-one I know who plays rugby or football has heard anything so I think there will still be games on tomorrow. I bloody hope so at least.

Surprised not to be cancelled today, just changed from Wilton to Karori 3.

Not really cancellations but throught this might be best thread for it. With so few cancellations this year and grades being finished, it's really cool Capital Football are doing these extra cup games with inter-division matches.

Capital Football Cup seems to be Div 1-5 and then the others are all mixed in the Community, District and Federation cups.

Is that definitely happening then? We had said we were keen but as at yesterday hadn't heard anything.

Edit: See the draw up on the Capital Football website now and we don't appear to be in any of them even though we'd replied that we were interested. Maybe ended up missing out if there were too many teams to make it work or something.

The draw is up on the Capital Football website. Some teams have a bye this weekend, you might be one of those.
