Can't remember the last time I started a thread.

I wonder if any divisions will already be cancelled given the awful weather we've had all week.

Expect there will be some. We're at Karori Park where the drainage is not great so probably a chance we get postponed.

Nothing cancelled yet but I reckon we'll see some today. We're at Nairnville Park, hopefully drainage is better now that they finished the work end of last season but I'm not holding out much hope.

It's our home ground for cricket but it hardly had a test all summer as it was a pretty good one (although that #1 block is very low and slow). There was some rain last two Saturday's and seemed to handle it pretty well. Fingers crossed.

It's a shame that a lot of player instantly blame Capital Football for cancellations and to be fair, any cancellations that are generally council decided are for the long term benefit of players and the grounds. It can be frustrating (if we don't play tomorrow I'll be playing waiter to a bunch of ladies at a Nutrimetics party), but it's a reality and I'd rather sacrifice the odd game (which we get to play eventually anyway) than play on a pitch that is a mud bath OR a minefield by the end of the season...and as a cricketer, I like an outield that is relatively flat.

Sod the Nutrimetics party.  Get out and watch a game.

We're off to the WeeNix game at Wakey as the Nighthawks have a Monday night game.

Here's the unwritten contract I have...

Whenever a game is cancelled, I play the perfect husband - cleaning, cooking, entertaining her friends. This way, I'm able to continue playing a full season of cricket and football each year and she buys me craft beer. Small price to pay...

Glad I'm not in goal for that one. Shall be BNU's keeper debut for the season, hell of a welcoming!

Postponements and Transfers have started rolling in...

Click me

25 games cancelled so far across the Capital Football grades and a bunch of transfers and KO time changes...looks like I'm going to be getting a Nutrimetics makeover.

We're moved from Karori Park 2 to 3. Apparently pitch 3 is in way better condition. Would have thought there would already be a game on 3 but guess not.

Capital Football tweeted that Cap 3,6,10 and Masters 1 & 4 have been postponed. Think nearly every other grade at least has one transfer.

At home sick with a cough and cold today so wouldn't have minded being postponed tomorrow to be honest.

Gutted...wanted to keep the goal scoring form going and now have to wait to see if I can even control the ball on the minefield that is Raroa Park next weekend.

No it is one game per pitch. Resies on 2 and kept the derby at KP

When will Capital Football start using the correct name for Karori Park, is that not it's summer name?.

In the winter or after heavy rain, I thought it is known as  "Lake Karori" so much for the council spending mega dollars creating such a poor imitation of sports fields

You are well out of date Critter. Further drainage work has made KP no worse

than anywhere else and over the last two seasons games have been transferred

INTO Karori Park.

Ah ok. Pitch 3 was in pretty good condition today despite all the rain this week.

More rain forecast this week. Hopefully it's our turn to play.

I see Raroa got an upgrade (or at least re-laid) late last year.

Anyone played on it yet?

Yeah played our first game there, pitch is pretty nice. Fence to the retirement home nextdoor is fairly low and quite close to the sideline so the ball went over several times. Subs and spare footballs will need to be on standby.

Played there a million times in the past but not since it was relaid. My Grandma's room overlooks the pitch so I'll have to bust out The Studge for her when I score.

I'm up front first half, in goal second half apparently. Better get the wet weather gloves out - ahhh - joys of the lower grade utility player!

Could be some pitches in a bad state but weather looks good today and forecast is good tomorrow so hopefully there's no major changes.

So any guesses on cancellations this weekend.... Think we could see a lot of cancellations and transfers this week.

I wonder if having 12.30 games on May 30th is an option given we can't afford too many cancellation in season

Masters 2-5 all off too. My team are playing on Monday night this week so was going to play for a friend's Masters team tomorrow.

That's a bit crap if some grades are still playing. It will be the second cancellation for us when other grades have had none...not that I'm playing anyway.
