Rapa won 5-4. Wharf ended up being down to 8 men!

Deserved win by Upper Hutt coming from 1 nil down at halftime to win 2 - 1 despite missing two regular starters.  UH Goals from Cameron McLachlan and Steven Thomas. Top quality save in the first half stopped BNU going two ahead. A

Enjoyable game to watch. Panhead on Tap made it all the better!

4 reds and 11 yellows would indicate he lost control of the match. .

Two good games on Wakefield, lots of niggle in both games and both games played at nine hundred miles an hour particularly the Olympic v Miramar game. Olympics discipline issues really continue to hold it back as a club.

Stop Out I would say fairly unlucky to go down to Island Bay. Desperately missing Mickey as I'm sure he would of tucked away some of the many great chances they had in front of goal.

I thought that the score flattered BNU to be honest.

Fong brothers both away for UH.  Then Dawson limped off mid way through first half. Before that UH got caught dreadfully sqaure at the back and a lobbed though ball saw BNU with a one one one that the striker converted beautifully lobbing over the advancing keeper.

Not long after that Cushla made a fantastic save from a 20 yard drive going into the corner to keep it at one.  Could have been different if that had gone in from a confidence point of view for both teams.

UH were having the higher percentage of possession. They dominated the rest of the first half.  Richard McLay missed three clear chances, two of which were one on on with the keeper. UH should have been at least level at half time if not in front.

Two goals in the first half of the second half well put away along with more lions share of possession had UH in front.  They then hit the bar with what would have been the goal of the day with about 15 to go.

BNU came back into it a fair bit in the last 10 or so as UH sat back to defend.  But apart from a coupled of scrambled clearances, did not look like scoring.

BNU spent a lot of the game losing focus arguing with the ref.  No doubt they will claim referee incompetence as evidenced by four of them getting yellows for dissent.  Ref was not great but nothing like as bad as BNU were obviously claiming.

Interesting exercise for UH.  Relegated for this season to CAP1 playong a team from the CAP PREM (albeit mid to bottom of table) and beating them reasonably comfortably.  Well top of the CAP1 table and now this, gives them a sort of measure of where they are at.

Interesting take on the game.  I think IBU were the better side (apart from probably the 1st 15), fully deserved the win and I don't think you would get too much of a different opinion if you asked Chris Sambrooke.

I do agree that if Mickey was on the end of a couple of those Gulley whipped in balls it could of been a different story.

So BNU match report makes for interesting reading, they seem to think they were forced into making a sub at half time or their player would be red carded...

Have heard a Ref talk about having mentioned removing a player by substitution rather than issue  a 2nd yellow to save a suspension -

lol his first yellow was for as blatant hack from behind as you will ever see. Not 10 minutes later the ref had occasion to speak to him again for an offence that could have easily been another yellow.

Pretty sure the ref may have said something like tell him to calm down or he won't finish the game.

Probably a good move for them to sub him when all things considered he was probably lucky to see out the first half.

To the neutral it sounds like really good refereeing, and probably sensible of BNU to take the advice. Always enjoy Dean's match reports I thought I was reading about Barcelona not Brooklyn for a minute!

Ok that makes sense and was probably good player management from the ref

Unless the regulations have been changed for this season refers to players in the Chatham Cup in the terms of male gender i.e. he and him.

I was at Taupo vs Manukau along with The Journeyfan and others. It was also a clash between Kevin Fallon (coach of Manukau) and Kale Herbert (son of Ricki and coach of Taupo) Here's my take on it:

Went to HBC v Papa2toes on Saturday.

Quite a classic cup tie.

HBC went 2 up and as the higher ranked side looked like running away with it.

Papa fought back to 2-2 and could well have won it before extra time.

Penalty shoot out went HBC's way .

HBC fielded a few reserves (injury/ suspensions perhaps) - they may have a little more depth than I suspected and could be up there at the business end of NRFL1.
