I've moved back to the big Akl and am dusting off the football boots. Any one recommend a good club and ones to avoid. I'm going along to Eastern Suburbs next week to have a look/ trial. I live in Meadowbank and want a fairly local club in and around AFF perm or div 1.
Jag, I'm not playing for Pukekohe, sorry.

Its no longer a problem.

OK, so ES are a load of bollocks. It was like, "great come play for us in this team, we really like you and what you to play". So I pay my subs then get told last years keeper is coming back and they're closed shop again. Fee refund minus an "admin fee". w**kers. Lucky I hadn't signed the transfer papers.
Training with Ellerslie this week. They seem like a much nicer bunch than ES.

Its no longer a problem.

My club seem determined to piss me off and the drive is a challenge but you did mention cookies.

Cookies? They may have an adverse effect on my keeping but I may be interested. Isn't your keeper in a cast at the moment?

Its no longer a problem.

They are

Have a look at Ellerslie; they are Div 1 and will be pushing for promotion. Warren Parke is a decent coach and a good guy IMO. It's a young squad too.

Bugger! Still, they also have a AFF Champ team and a AFF 30's Div 1 team. First season in 3 years so have to see how it goes.

MAP's AFF Champ team won the league last year, and includes both my team's coaches so they've gotta be good. Not sure whether they need a keeper, but you can but ask.

Go play for Pukekohe and try get them promoted back into league football again. Bound to be a challenge.

Three for me, and two for them.

Just trying to get you players Jag. If Xavi came up to me looking for a kickabout in Auckland i'd tell him the same thing.

Three for me, and two for them.

Cheers, Bro. We're not doing too badly for players at the moment, but the more the merrier. Sad thing is, I think as long as we finish above Otahuhu Utd, we qualify for the play-offs! So we could finish 2nd bottom.......

Needless to say, if we don't win it, we wont be thinking about NRFL play-offs.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I used to play for Otahuhu. I'm under the impression that they would turn down the playoffs if they had the chance, as they simply don't have the resources to fund an NRFL team. However, doesn't Uni-Mt Wellington also have a team in the AFF Champs you'd have to beat?

Yeah, I think Otahuhu knocked back the play-offs last year. We beat them 5 - 1 in the Chatham Cup.

Uni-Mt may well be in there this season, don't know if they were last year. Manukau City are also throwing a lot of 'resources' at getting into the Championship and the NRFL. Dunno if they've been accepted into the Championship for this season. They're being coached by the completely bonkers Ricki Espinosa. Should be fun.

Edit: Just had a look and you are right. Uni Mt Wellington finished 2nd bottom last year.
