My son is a tidy 17 year old footballer who has played at the highest youth levels in Nz and has already made his Northern Prem League debut. His is looking to move to Auckland to attend uni next year.

I would like some feedback about which clubs he should look at where he will get looked after and be in a good football environment.

Any help would be appreciated

I have a fair idea who this is. I think he's signing for Birko.

Three for me, and two for them.

No he has not signed for anyone. Not looking to play silly buggers and play anyone off. Just trying to help my lad take the next step in his football career.

Only guessing. Birko's got a good rep for playing youngsters though...

Three for me, and two for them.

I would go play under Emblem as well. If he is 17 and just made his NPL debut then in Northern 1, he will get a good run under a very good coach. That's a smart move

Grumpy old bastard alert

What position does he play?  I agree Springs would be a good option, other options depending on where he is living in Auckland could be Birko if based on the shore, Ellerslie or Eastern Suburbs if based Central/East.
All of those clubs above have records of playing young players.

He plays up front. Not sure where he will live yet. Depends on uni applications.

most those teams could use a good striker - best of luck to him wherever he ends up going.

If he does want some info for Ellerslie then let me know.

what's he looking to study? There are scholarship options within NZ for just that type of player that have added value football components with overseas options post grad.

Sounds a bit like a little publicised relationship mainland football have with Lincoln university; but pretty sure that's only for mainland players; and have never heard of a post-grad offshore football option, so must be something else you are talking about Ronaldoknow?
