Not trying to put a downer on it, reaching the Chatham Cup semi is a huge feat and one to be proud of, however is there real need for a cover charge? A few years ago Halswell made a run to the semis and there was never a cost to get in.

Three Kings charged $10 last year and it pissed down all game. That really was a joke.

Clubs can charge entry fee if they own the ground but not a council park eg Halswell Domain. You can apply for a special permit for normal closure of council run land, there's a cost for permit plus advertising of application.

s'no harm in it is there? trying to capitalise a little on the fervour of the cup?
Olympic used to charge $2 at Newtown Park for run of the mill league games- thats a joke when you can stand by the fence for free, but of course if you pay you can get a good spray from a firework or a lippy Greek uncle
