Based on History, Tradition, Pedigree and Trophies. Who do you reckon it is?

Excluding NZFC clubs btw.

Three for me, and two for them.

First name that jumped to mind was Napier City Rovers.

After a bit of research I'd say Mt Wellington - it won 6 of the old Rothmans League titles in the 70s and 80s, and won 5 Chatham Cups and 2 more since it amalgamated with Auckland University.

Sadly, I can't even find a website for it the club now

Another big club from the past that's no longer around was Christchurch United

Tell that to Christchurch United, newly promoted this year back into the Mainland Premier League, and having a fairly successful year.

They never disappeared, were just mighty average for a few years

D'oh! - Apologies to Chch Utd - my memory's not as good as it used to be - one or two too many headers out of the box probably...

They were VERY VERY good. I had the luck/misfortune to see then beat Stop Out 9-1. About a million goals in the last five minutes.  Probably the best performance I have ever seen by a NZ club side.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.
