Stop-Out Sports Club and FreeHeat invite your club to participate in the 14th Wynton Rufer Tournament.

Participation

7th to 10th Grades inclusively (Normal Capital Soccer Age Regulations apply).

Cost:

$60 per team

Stop Out Grounds - Hutt Raceway (Wellington)

Format

Slightly different from previous years. Each team will play a minimum of 5 24-minute games in Round Robin pools. Teams will then move into semis and finals structure (Cup, plate and Shield). The actual structure will depend on entries received.

Grades 7 and 8

Team sizes: 7th Grade ï¿½ 5 a side. 8th Grade - 6 a side

Teams of 7 players.

17th May is a reserve day.

Clubs are initially limited to one team per grade. However, once initial entries are received, we always open it up to extras, from the larger clubs. To simplify this process, can clubs who seek more than one entry per grade, send an entry form for their extra teams (no payment required at this stage) and we will randomly select these.

For those who are new to the Tournament, refreshments are available on site.

In 2007, entries were received from as far away as Wanganui, and we hope to expand our reach even further this year. A great opportunity to enjoy the beautiful game with people who you donï¿½t normally get to play against.

When the tournament was set up, Wynton Rufer specifically requested that participation, rather than competitiveness, be the key focus.

We therefore ask that clubs bear this in mind when selecting their teams, and include players who are not necessarily the elite!
