We (womens div3) have been cancelled FOUR WEEKS IN A ROW! Who else thinks that's really CRAP?

thats pretty sh*tty,
we had a similar situation but more brought about by a team dropping out so we had a bye then the next week we were supposed to play but got canceled then had the bye again.
Surely they would distribute the cancelations evenly between the leagues if certain grounds were out. know what i mean? like div 3 one week then div1 the next etc

That's how it's done in men's divisions, don't know why they can't do the same for women's.
I'd be really, really, pished off if we got cancelled 4 weeks in a row.

This is only my third season in Wellington, but easily the worst for cancellations and poor pitch conditions, to all you veterans out their how does 2008 compare to other seasons?

the cancellations the kids face seem just as harsh as your run BNUgirl
in both cases it seems to be a problem that needs some thought
(there's a fairly long topic somewhere about the available number of grounds and conditions)

I've been playing quite a few years and have never been cancelled this
many consecutive weeks. I know the grounds are in a terrible state, and
I know a lot of the mens games have been cancelled too, but this
year feels a bit like we get the leftovers (or not!) once the guys have
had their go. It's very hard to keep team morale going week after
week without a game.

It's bad, but there have been worse. A few years back we played once in 6 weeks and the season finished in September.

Hey I've got a great idea...how about next season we play on
saturdays, and guys can play on sundays? That way we get a turn at the
grounds before they're mangled :-)

This thread made me think of a serious question (maybe have a poll):
Would you guys prefer to play on a shocking pitch in the rain, or have a game postponed till a better day/conditions?
I think this is proportionate from "please postpone" for the first week to a ravenous "let me get out there at all costs" at week 3 or so of postponements..

I'd play in whatever the conditions, I'm quickly running out of years left playing.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.
