Any team news, player news, legal briefings, court documents stick em here.

Should be a very interesting league this coming season (as if it's not all the time). Wests will be strong, Wellington United will be an unknown quantity, Karori I hear are looking to youth and have some good players so should be there or thereabouts.

For our part we have more competition for 1st team places than I have ever seen in the 6 years I have been involved with the club. The coaching team is looking good, the players are fizzing and we are getting shiny new water bottles so as is my optimistic bent I am hopeful that this will be our year.

We have our first hit out on Thursday night against BNU so we will be able to see how we are travelling.

Hope to see all the familiar faces down at the Stade De Alex Moore and around the traps over the coming season.

Few new faces at Seatoun after Relegation last year. Feel like we have a more well balanced side than last year. Can't wait for the season to start proper!

watched West's play Wainui last week. West's were looking very, very sharp. I'd think they're going to be up near the top.

Fun (if a bit heated at times) hit out last night - thoughts on the game?

PS - ref admits she made a blunder about backpass/offside rule

Thought it was a good hit out for both teams.

Looking at the game from our point of view it was

definitly a step up in pace and physicality  etc. from training but a good opportunity for the boys to start to work on combinations and adapt to each others play. Lots of new guys in our squad so a little bit disjointed.  Good signs though.

shooting practice needed for us.  we had plenty of chances but couldn't find where the goal was.

You also got in the way a few times Nomad. Most upset at that :)

i was really impressed with our new number 7. Just a flat out class player. Best on the pitch i thought.  Really lucky to have him.

Our new centre back combination is going to frighten a few attackers this season, both good skillful  players with some pace and hard as nails.

Highlights of the night:

Your coach telling young Purser to stop whinging.  Classic.

The shoulder to shoulder by our Centre half in the corner late in the second half.  You could see it coming from a mile away. Bone crunching.

Well worth it for both teams i think.  we step up another level next week with a game against Lower Hutts firsts.

Good luck with the season.

Are CF doing a Phoenix-style thing and putting a team in Capital 1 this winter?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

well, you do have to keep 11 teams in the league somehow.

Allegedly

Cheers mate - Was your number 7 the darker lad in midfield? He was quite handy, very right footed though

Only problem with your lad lining up ours for the shoulder to shoulder (there was a few I could be mistaken) is he took on our 19yo body builder, and didn't get very far! However, your big centre back was handy and won everything

re: Lower Hutt - they will cry ALL day long if you guys play like that, they are very good at keeping the ball, but soft (although they throw themselves into what I would call reckless challenges). Should be an interesting contrast of styles.

ref admits error??????

sure you herd this correctly as they never make errors……

any score to this hit out as NW not playing hilton this year so no real gauge of whether they have a team worthy of div1 this year or not.

good sportsmanship and fair playing field is all we ask for

but all we get is talk and goal posts moving

When is the draw out?

Permalink Permalink

Can't be far away. I saw first round match for IBU is away to Karori in SportingPulse results page.

They have to confirm the eleventh team before making a draw.

Heard from Capital Football it will be 20th March.

Wgtn Utd have an advert on CF for players. Must be a shortage of Nix players. Says they get lunch after their games on Newtown - even though it is shut..

Didn't think the Nix players were gonna play cap 1. Not surprised they're short of players for their cap 1 team though

Wharf 0 Island Bay 0. Hard fought game, played in good spirit. Wharf missed penalty (keeper saved). Bay hit the post.

Tawa 1 Seatoun 0. Pretty gutted we didn't come away with anything after that game. Tawa didn't create much but took their chance when it came. Ref ruled one out for us in the first half for offside.

Good game against Seatoun.  Some questionable off side calls from ref for both teams.  Seatoun attack from right handside all game.  Became very predictable.  Think they will do well with some more game time under the belt.

Only a guess but potentially a depth issue with the first team still missing team welly players? Usually filters down for them
