Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

A friend sent me a reply. This point made me ponder...
"If I read the submission right it is saying we want a higher level of facilities and we want to pay less! Football in Lower Hutt has two artificials and one? sand based ground which is pretty good. The days of sports like cricket and soccer relying on massive ratepayer subsidies is slowly coming to an end."

Stop Out #1 i am guessing?
Looks like I cut and paste in beyond the piece that had me pondering.
The issues was this "massive ratepayer subsidies". I realise that my friend was trying to provoke a response, from me, but it made me wonder if others out there share his view. These thing aren't subsidies, they are part and parcel of building community. My thought is that we have to consider that there are some out there who would champion this attitude.
FWIW:
Petone 'turf' is run by CF.
The only sand based pitch I know is the one at Hutt Rec built for the RWC.
let's just ignore your friend
I'll pass that on...
