sounds like they just made it up to further their case
it was probs hockey turf
away goals could be important in these play off games i feel. think it might be a tight tussle. picking both sides will have or be doing their homework. a change to turf might be tactical but not a huge impact i doubt. whats with a 3 week break between games. tt with a 2 week break. will be closer then the 4-1 aggregate last year id imagine.
Naki's last game of the season before playoffs cancelled. (well Defaulted i guess)

no doubt they will find away to drop most of their players to their "club" sides for a hit out.

break is only a couple of weekends
Who are Naki's players of note?

Should of said Wharfs with 3 week break. And now it would seem TT with 3 week break between last game and first playoff also.
Players of note??. Not argentinian ;) or flying from Auckland. ha. Just a bunch of honest hard working kiwi kids by looking at media reports etc. Good ol internet.

What position do you play?
2nd 5/8. transfer window still open? wharfs need anything specific? ;)
A bit like your life
here he is... more great chat from an ex wgtn united third teamer
yeah agree very sensitive but TRUTH ????
it's taken lots of time and planning for this chance so i suppose there is some stress to get it right.
and then there is all those teams who came third from bottom in there leagues who will slag them off if they don't get the spot and it becomes 3 teams relegated.
so perhaps we should keep the jibe's to recent facts and don't embellish the past as fact/truth.

Former football club Wellington United?
Leave off the trolling TopLeft. It's too easy, but it's really dull for the rest of us.

If Karori win it'll be humble pie and congrats from me. I just feel with a longer wait comes more pressure regardless of who it is.
Go Taranaki. It's better for development in that region rather than having a another run of the mill Wgtn team. Central League might actually look like a Central League then.

your longer wait comment i feel this is true and relevant to now feeling/comment.
but it also could be good to allow players to become fully fit.
and i hope you will be eating humble pie as i know some now ex first team players who have worked hard towards this goal and it would be great for them and there ex team mates still in the first team to see it all pay off.
as for the management team i cannot comment as i have had no contact or comment to say they deserve this or not but i do know the players sure do.
it'd be a real shame for them to be robbed of promotion by a rep team.

Are NCR and PNM not basically rep teams? In the regions you have to have the best players playing for 1 "club" as there isn't enough depth. Otherwise go back to a purely Wgtn league

Difference being that NCR and PNM are actually clubs. Team Taranaki isn't even trying to pass themselves off as a club, they are open about the fact that they are a rep team.

Direct from their website:
"As a composite side, all players that make up the Team Taranaki squad must be affiliated to one of the senior men clubs and are released to train and play for Team Taranaki. Those players not selected are released back to their home club each week."

I just about choked on my Weetbix reading this. It's obvious the author does not know what a "rep' team is.
NCR are the only team from the Hawkes Bay region. That doesn't make them a "rep" team. Players from the NCR Central League team do not play for anyone else during the season apart from NCR. I think that the same will apply for PN Marist.
NCR is, and has always been, a Club team in the true sense of the word. It has half a dozen other senior playing teams and a dozen junior teams. It is not a "make up" club like NZF has made the summer franchises or in this case, the Taranaki team.

Naki playoff is at Webster Field or something - which is apparently part of NPBHS
There is a Hockey Turf there. Webster Field that is.
the field next to it i guess

or something???. You mean you don't know? ;). When you're sure let us all know.
So one game grass and one game turf then.

Blew.2 ..... need a new google earth image it would appear. What can ya do.
Costs for teams from the provinces are horrific. No local away games, just travel travel travel. I'm not surprised Taranaki have a composite team. Go TT!
I almost choked on my own vomit reading this reply before I eventually managed to get myself into the recovery position.
You're getting caught up in the semantics of the word "club". NCR and TT are 2 different beasts of what is essentially the same thing. A "Club" in this case NCR, or a Rep team, TT, representing that region.
If a reindeer decides to stick a red light on it's nose and call itself Rudolph it more than entitled to. But it's still a reindeer. NCR is a club that is the Rep team for the Hawkes Bay. TT is made up of players from local clubs to form a team representing Taranaki.
But lets say hypothetically Gisbourne City decide they want back in the CL. I would imagine the team would comprise the best players of the Poverty Bay region. So even though it plays under the Gisbourne City moniker, it's still a rep team for that region. Same with NCR. The best players in the Hawkes Bay region play for NCR. Not Taradale, Maycenvale, Havelock North etc...
But I digress...my favourite "club" team in Wgtn use to be Miramar when they had most of Team Wgtn playing for them. Now it's Wellington United.
I think you just made a case for TT not existing
So which of Miramar, Wellington United, Olympic, Lower Hutt, Stop Out etc represent the best wellington region players in CL.
With all due respect Pilonidal Sinus, there is actually a difference between a TT and a NCR. The major one being that TT players can go and play for other clubs if they aren't required for TT (or if TT has a bye etc). If they cut that they wouldn't be far off and IMO I don't think it's that necessary. By simply being called "Team Taranaki" I'm fairly sure they will benefit in terms of sponsorship/funding and general community backing as opposed to "New Plymouth Rangers" for example, which I think is fair given the previously mentioned challenges with travel etc.
Same with NCR. The best players in the Hawkes Bay region play for NCR. Not Taradale, Maycenvale, Havelock North etc...
You obviously don't know a hell of a lot about football past the Wellington City area. The best players in the Hawkes Bay region do not play for NCR. There are some very good players who do play for Taradale, Maycenvale, Havelock North etc who, for their own reasons (be that lack of ambition, can't travel every second weekend, loyal to their own Club) do not want to play for NCR. Perhaps in the future when we can set in place a pathway for Hawkes Bay players and get rid of some of the tall poppy syndrome deflected NCR's way we may be able to fully represent the HB playing strengths.
To say that NCR has the best players in the Hawkes Bay region, therefore they are a rep team, is a crock.
In the same respect Team Taranaki probably don't have all of Taranaki's best players in their squad either, for similar reasons. Although the fact they can call on them whenever it might suit either party is the problem.
