Hi Loftus. Didn't say that you said any of those things, didn't even suggest. Just disagreed with your comment based only on what I had seen and know of the players they have.

I hear you have already sewn up the Stop Out coaching gig for next year after being back two weeks. Impressive!

Sheesh a man in the know is our feverish, always leading the way and breaking incredibly accurate information..... Not sure what sort of club you run Feverish, but pretty sure a coach who completes the goals set by the club will be back the following season to continue on the good work. At this stage it seems that there is still every chance Stop Outs current coach can do that. But then again I wouldn't really know as I don't have anything to do with those decisions.

P.s, I have been around longer than you know, but good to know your keeping close tabs on me Feverish.

who knows? Mike Holmwood obviously didn't meet his goals set by the club despite getting them promoted into CL a wee way back. Maybe you haven't been around that long though..

For someone who runs wharf, you seem to want to know a lot about Stop Out. I certainly remember the time when Mike was in charge, nice guy him. Not sure what happened with Mike and why he didn't continue on, maybe he couldn't? Why don't you fill us in?

take note people, this is what will happen if you say anything negative about Wharf, even if it is true. I like that about you though Feverish, you will always hit defence mode for your club. However most of the time you just make sure the conversation is diverted away from the original conversation and redirected to a negative about another club instead of just contributing to the original conversation from your perspective.

Well if you look back to how this convo started you'll see that you jumped in too change the subject straight after I was disagreeing that Wharf play "nice football" (True),  you then took the conversation towards an old SO coach not being reappointed after winning the league(Negative).

I was rating Loftus's (watched about every game for the past thirty years) opinion on the matter over mine (although I agree with him - I haven't been able to watch much at all this season) and yours (zero games). Seems legit.

As Horsehead said though - who cares? The goal of the top teams in Cap Prem is to win the league. We used to never lose at home when the pitch was a lake and we knocked balls long into the corners. At the end of the day, this year has been quite pretty but without the required results to win the league.

Happy now? I'll be expecting extra 'nice' football from your 19s this year.

stop out are a smash and grab side IMO. Play on the break, knock long diagonal balls in behind teams and pressurise, feed off mistakes. Effective approach and the league table reflects that. I don't think they play the most attractive football, but they are very effective.

I also think stop out are very lucky to have the scottish lad up front. Think he is the key reason for their results. Take him out and there is not much to fear offensively.

He's English... Totally agree with you though. Stop Out have a good side but Joe is making a huge contribution. Think he's on about 25 goals so far this season and he missed a few games right at the start due to injury. Some of his goals have been crucial in deciding the end result of the game. If he wasn't there for Stop out the league would be far closer. A great striker can make all the difference and its great to have him.

He wanted to carry on coaching Stop Out after getting them promoted 2 seasons in a row. He didn't get asked to come back. So I guess you could argue he got sacked. Ian Porteous was appointed the new coach and did a good job.

Ha wouldn't say he was running the club.  He was on the committee and may have been president as I recall. He was one of few who voted for Mike to stay. End of the day majority rules and Mike was voted not to stay on the following season. Hence why I say you could argue that he got sacked. Yes it was a bit rough but I'm over it and so is Mike

Never deserved to be in Cap Prem in the first place. Were clearly 3rd in Cap 1 last year and offer nothing to this grade apart from boggy pitches and whinging players.

Lower Hutt 2 Wharf 3. Messy game, too many errors by both teams.

LH 2-0 at HT, two fine strikes. Wharf must have had some great oranges

because they quickly scored two upon the resumption, followed by the

winner. MoM: Levi.

Seatoun won the right to a play off match... if you were in the same boat, you would have done the same thing...

lack of depth didn't help Seatoun kick on this year.

If we look at Marist (7th) Wellington United (8th) and Wainui (10th) in cap 1... im not sure they would have contributed much either?

All three of those teams are considerably weaker as a result of being relegated. I can't speak for Wainui or Marist but United actually won the right to stay up, if it wasn't for the first team pushing them down a league :)

WU deffo came 9th - Marist had to go into play offs due to all the shenanigans in Cap 1 I am pretty sure. We waited 4 weeks between our last Prems game and the play-off. Was an F'N joke

Marist had to wait until Stop Out lost to PNM. If SO had won Marist would have been safe and Wainui would have played Seatoun.

Yeah my bad. I confused myself with the 2012 results between WU and WM which were tbe same score lines. My memory failed me too - beating Marist meant we put them into a relegation position, not below us which was a touch satisfying at the time for a team already going down.

WU reserves def deserved to get relegated, although we often gave some good teams a good game. Never really benefitted from first team players dropping down like other clubs either. More often it was the opposite which cost us.

Anyway, as you were!

This years edition is looking like a tight finish. Come on the Diamonds!!
