North Welly possibly out of the running now, massive result for kapiti.

It just wasn't our day yesterday. Our striker lobed the keeper but the ball hit a hard patch on the goal line and bounced straight up onto the crossbar. Their Keeper pulled out a fantastic save later on to deny us then our striker then proceeded to blast over from in front with a pretty much open goal.

To be fair KCU had plenty of chances as well and our keeper had a fantastic game and pulled off some great saves but spilled a simple catch for their first goal.

Reffing left a little bit to be desired IMHO, KCU keeper should have been sent off for bringing our striker down just outside the box when he was the last man. Lost one of our midfielders with about 15 to go from a horrible tackle from behind (studs up straight into his Achilles)  which may put him out for the rest of the season (guy only got a yellow when it really should have been a straight red). Down to 10 men for that last 15 due to that unfortunately.

However KCU took their chances and battled away to the win so congrats to them and their coach (nice guys as well. Thank you to the KCU guys that stayed for a fair while at our clubrooms, much appreciated).

It makes things even tighter now, although results seem to have fallen our way yesterday.
