Anyone out there from teams in Capital 13?

We (the Uni Goldenrods) were in 12 last year and got relegated along with the IB Vauxhalls.  Hi to the Bombers and Uni Lateral - looks like there's a mini-championship for the Varsity teams - though how many of us are still actually students is an issue.

Good luck to everyone (well, almost everyone).

Good to see some local derby's shaping up. We (porirua city) will have a lot of trips into town this season. Looking forward to getting the season under way after a long hard pre-season.

Good Luck to all

Just been reading 14a forum catching up with a couple of the old div 13 teams interesting thread starting there on the IB vauxhaulls have to agree when we played them a couple of years back definatly the most dirty team ive come across. Thought last year in cap13 that it was the IB piggies that looked to take that mantle away from vauxhaulls could be a painful derby clash that one.

Good start for Porirua City 2-0 at Ynui. Good match, conditions difficult. Hope weather holds up this week so we dont start to have cancellations so early in the season. Apparantly our match has already been moved for this weekend against the uni goldenrods. Moved to the glorious surrounds of waitangirua's Waihora park.

2-0 win to Porirua over goldenrods.  all square at half time. Lucky to have independant ref makes for no obvious bias!! felt we were good for the win dominated for long spells our keeper didnt make a save all day.

Any info on Western Suburbs? Our 1st local derby of the season lookng forward to it. They will be up for it after there 6-1 loss to Flmingos. 2-2 draw with piglets at Island bay in last outing dissapointing result for us looking to get back into the winning way this weekend.

Close fought 2-1 win in local derby porirua over west suburbs. Big match coming up this week top of table clash poriua v uni flamingos, must be said flamingos have put their opposition to the sword in all their games thus far. apparantly they are far too young for this division!!

Division seems to be sorting itself out now. I tip Flamingoes and PC to top the table from now on. Dont think Swifts can take those two.

31 goals already by Flamingoes is pretty impressive.

Maybe Uni holidays (and missing players) will be decisive in the long run???

Hmm , not sticking your neck out too much there are you?

Maybe the Swifts long flight north to Cannons Creek this week might see you changing your mind?

No I take Porirua City to win by 2 or 3 goals. Team is much improved over last season with a more serious attitude towards training and games. Skill levels of some players well up to higher division status. Promotion season I think.

Flamingoes success will depend on player availability in the long run but they look v strong.

Vauxhalls need to start winning...no one wants them down in our division!!!

Yes...two months pre season and now weekly. As I said more serious this year....time to go up the divisions a bit so we can encourage our youngsters from junior football into the club.

My predictions were pretty spot on.... I think thats the pattern for the division for the season. Bound to be a couple of upsets, but the main pattern is there. Flamingoes and PC for promotion. Vauxhalls for the boot downwards...

Just a rap for the Swifts boys...although they lost they played a very fair game with lots of structure and skill. A pleasure to referee. (The PC boys have had far too much praise from me for one season...).

Good game against the Piglets - of course they were 5-0 up at half time so I think they took it a little easy in the second.  Our keeper kept us in it for good parts of it but we were asleep for the first 30 minutes of the game.

Wainui next week, Flamingos after that...having seen them play the Bombers I think I know which Varsity team's going to win that derby and it aint us.

Oprewise - we had the same experience against the Swifts last week - a good team to play against.  So far, it's been a pretty good grade for that. even our game against the Vauxhalls was played in a good spirit.  Mind you, it was our first win over them since we first played them 12-odd years ago!

Good match between Porirua & Uni Bombers played in good spirit throughout. Pity about the pitch (raroa) certainly stiffled our strengths. Little controversy over disallowed goal in 1st half having nets would have certainly settled the argument though.

Refereed Porirua City versus Brooklyn Pints. Gulf in class saw PC win easily 7-0. Brooklyn only managed a couple of shots although some of their players played well and put in a great effort.

As a referee I was disappointed in the attitude of a small number of Pints players who moaned endlessly about every decision...doesnt make for an enjoyable experience guys! No wonder so few people want to ref....

Well done to PC who I think will go on to promotion this year. Championship between them and Flamingoes who dropped points today.

The Goldenrods played out of our skins against in the derby at Kelburn against the Flamingos (7-0 before yesterday).  0-0 at halftime they scored twice to be 2-0 up and we clawed it back with two great goals in the last 25 minutes.

Kudos to our keeper Andy who pulled off half a dozen great saves to keep the Flamingos out.  Roll on Island Bay next week.

Good win for Porirua 1-0 over the Swifts today. Probably our toughest game of year so far. Lots of goal mouth action wind making defending corners a bit of a lottery.
