Uni dropped 3 players (2 midfielders and a striker) . Striker from 1st team who got a first half hat trick after that the game was all over. 4-0 at half time.

To be fair they didn't break any rules. Pre-season starts now.

What a load. We had 2 midfielders from our second team; both of whom have played before, and neither of whom got a hat trick. I was going to come on here and compliment you on a good season, you were the best team we played, but instead I just hope the sour grapes tasted good when you got home last night.

As for the actual game. What a strange fixture. No ref, and half of the opposition didn't seem to want to be there. It was like a friendly kick about at training for the better part of 80 minutes. A shame really, because we were really up for it.

No sour grapes here just stated who played, you were with in the rules due to the club dropping players to help the Gossies over the last month or so. I thought the number 8 got a hat trick in the first half before I left, think Dan was his name from what I heard from the guys I know from Uni. To be fair with the exception of that guy. Uni still looked like a better team than Petone and even without that particular player would have won by a lesser number anyway. Great season from the top four. Good luck to you guys and Wairarapa next season.

Marist 5-1 winners over Greytown. Petone 5th, Greytown 6th, Marist 7th, Masterton 8th and we know the rest

Predicitions for Marist blowing out a bit off - 15 goals scored in last 3 games :D

You were saying earlier that 8th position is not necessarily safe.
How does that work? Do you know yet?

Permalink Permalink

I think it all depends on what happens in the Central league play off between Stop Out and PN Marist (?). If Stop Out win it doesn't matter. If PN Marist win is there a problem because more teams would have to filter down the leagues to make space for the relegated Wellington United (Central League).

Anyone know what general feeling are from the Horwhenua & Wairapara top division winners if they wish to move into Cap 3?

If they want to,  then it's possible 5 teams get relegated from Div 3 down. ( 3 relegated from Cap prem down, + 2 extra teams to fit into Cap 3)

its very unlikely any other teams from wairarapa will enter welly grade,if Douglas villa win the league we defiantly won't be,

Permalink Permalink

Yea I just got an email saying that worst possible scenario is 5 teams go down!
That seems a bit ridiculous! Teams that finish 6th and 7th shouldn't be in this position.

A bit ridiculous maybe, but is there anyother way? With nine CF teams in CL there is always a chance that one will be replaced by an out-of-town club. The first and second teams in Cap 4 etc deserve to be promoted. The Wair and Horo-Kap winners deserve to be promoted. So, sadly, that means five teams are relegated. The good news is that it is very unlikely to happen that in the same year as a CF team is relegated from CL and replaced by an HB, Mana, Tara, PB or Wango team, sides from both Wair and Horo-Kap will want promotion. Possible, but very unlikely.

Rumour mill is that no teams from either Horowhenua or wairarapa will be coming in. So for our club, it will all come down to the CL playoff, and having Stop Out take the promotion. I will be watching both games. You also have to think about the fact that both 9th and 10th got relegated last year, only to have 2 teams pull out above them and get promoted back in. So in realistic terms, no one will know until Capital football receive the entries (and exits) into the leagues for next year.

Who said he's moving overseas for the purpose of playing football? What a redundant thing to say anyway.

Rooks is a good bastard, and a talented footballer. Seems a waste to go SV but isn't the SV team made up of past players from UHC? Last time I was at Delaney park I ran into Mike Glensor and he was playing and bringing them out of the depths of lower level football. Shame I am no longer around because I would of loved to play against some of my old Upper Hutt club mates

Heard Masterton used a Wairarapa U registered player Glen Fraser, under another name against Waterside yesterday.

That's bullocks. For one, I know Glen personally and he wouldn't of played for them having to play for Wairarapa against Villa in the cap 2 game today, and 2, I have seen the 150 photos that were taken at the game yesterday, and I know Glen is small but he wouldn't of been that small to be missed by the camera. Speculation until proof.

Pretty hard to do consididering the refs know all the local players.  Perhaps a look alike. Pretty hard to get away with a photographer taking 100 photos. Flaming muppets. Cant handle the jandle. Especially since in the wairarapa we know all tw players outside if football. He went to united with the clubs best wishes. Hes  a true footballer not a club jumper sad to see his name being tarnished

If Zorro has nothing to do with Karori, then what the F**k has his comment got to do with the Masterton result? Or was it just a comment made for no reason? That's my question.

Obviously he hasn't been in the Wairarapa long, as glen Fraser has been playing football here for 25 years, so he should know what he actually looks like before throwing comments in that he is unsure of. Was it not you that just said "get your sources right"?
