Chossa would love that to happen. Very dependant on Uni dropping points and Karori winning their final 3.

Agree with bottom two.

Assuming you guys win tomorrow, results couldn't have been better for you this weekend!
I'm still planning on taking points from Uni too :)

Chossa, when you contacted Capital Football about the ref not turning up did they try and get you another ref?

No, they weren't really interested. I thought the assessor should have done it!
He was there, and he has done the job at Cap 3 plenty of times before.

Werent interested???

Its in their regulations, they will attempt to find another ref. They should have at least tried.

Maybe not interested is a bit unfair.
They basically said there is nothing they can do.
I was more focused on trying to convince someone to do it for us so didn't waste a whole lot of time talking to them about it.

CF didnt assign a ref for the game but somehow Cap 15A had one. I'm guessing he was a mate of one the teams in the game before us.

Greytown at home and Wainuiomata away are the Cougars last two games.

Uni have Petone at Memorial the tuesday after everyone finishes up.

How the hell was no ref assigned to a Cap 3 game on Tuesday night?
Surely they could have picked from anyone who did a game on Saturday.
This is not good enough! CF need to sort their crap out.

I'm sticking to my Prediction of

1. Wairarapa
2. Kaori
3. Armanis
4. Uni

Also sticking with Marist and North Wellington to go down.

Actually, after looking at the table a bit more closely it looks like Wainui will go down.
North Wellington need a point or better against Marist to stay up, but if Marist beat NW the Marist stays up.
Big game.

I'm picking Marist to win, sending NW and Wainui down.

It's a tough one to call even at this stage of the season. We need to win one and have north Wellington to either draw or lose this weekend. Marist will throw everything at us in our last game, so really need to step up at home this weekend and get the points.

Interesting to see every Cap 3 game played in Wellington this round had no refs. I think the teams involved should be asking for a please explain from Cap Football. I know I would be. And if fact I did when we played Uni on the turf at Wakefield earlier this year.

What kind of response did you get from Capital Football TSMA?

And I suggest you focus on picking up your points against Marist ;)

I spoke to Jamie because our game had been moved from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. They hadnt assigned a ref, and also hadnt mentioned anything to the University team that the game had been changed. Unfortunately for Uni, they arrived at the ground at 12:30.
And in regards to the other comment, we won't need to rely on the points for next week, after tomorrow.

Sounds like Karori is the place to play. A 5-1 loss to Greytown. Wow. Not expected. We gained a point against petone, which in the context of the game, was a fair result. Now for wairarapa united to beat Wainui today, and we are safe.

Yea big surprise there! 2nd spot will be decided in the final round, with 3 games all having an impact.
Shows how close it has been up there all season. And its nice that our final game against Uni next week will impact how it all finishes up.

Agreed on our game. Draw was a fair result. Was a good game.

Chossa,

Your game against Uni is on the Tuesday?  Might head over for that one.  Should be a good match. Greytown have got Marist the following weekend as a catch up for the Chatham cup game missed.

Predictions are of today as follows:

11-8 : Wairarapa (38 - 1st) beat Wainui (13 - 9th) - Wairarapa on 41, Wainui on 13

17-8 : Wairarapa (41 - 1st) beat Greytown (19 - 6th) - Wairarapa on 44, Greytown on 19

17-8 : Armanis (31 - 4th) beat North Wellington (12 - 10th) - Armanis on 34, North Wellington on 12

17-8 : Masterton (17 - 7th) beat Marist (14 - 8th) - Masterton on 19, Marist on 14

17-8 : Wainui (13 - 9th) beat Karori (32 - 3rd), Wainui on 16, Karori on 32

20-8 : Petone (24 - 5th) beat University (33 - 2nd), Petone on 27, University on 33

24-8 : Greytown (19 - 6th) beat Marist (14 - 9th), Greytown on 22, Marist on 14

Table at end:

Wairarapa 44

Armanis 34

University 33

Karori 32

Petone 27

Greytown 22

Masterton 19

Wainui 16

Marist 14

North Wellington 12

I doubt this will all go to the plan as above , but who knows.  The league this year has thrown some interesting results

I'm looking forward to coming on this forum on Wednesday morning.

Cheers Greytown, giant killers of Capital 3. Be good if you could knockover the Rapa as well.

Our fate is in our hands. The Armanis and the Cougars keep handing us lifelines.

Brian received a one match ban, which has to be taken in the competition he got the suspension in. He missed last nights game (and going by the result of that one, he wasn't the only one "missing". So that's his one match suspension served.

I dont think thats right (or is in the spirit of the rules). I dont think you can compete during the round that you are suspened.

Quoted from Disciplinary Regulations 2012

  1. 12.2  Unless otherwise specified by a Competition Administrator or a Disciplinary Committee, a Player or Team Official who receives a suspension for an Offence in a Match must serve that suspension in the next following Match(es) in which her or his Team participates.

So he served his suspension in the central league game last night. No real right to protest. And it's Wairarapa. When have they done something in the "best interests of the game" that doesn't benefit them?

It's done on playing days, not weeks or rounds. He has served his "1 playing day" suspension

Also quoted from the same document:

In accordance to NZF regulation 7, players sent from the field of play are automatically suspended from playing for one (1) match and the player is to serve this one (1) match suspension in the competition round following the match in which he was sent from the field.

So to me that really says he has served his suspension in the Central League round, and can rightfully play for the seconds.

That would be the perfect outcome for us!
It will be interesting to see how the results pan out on the weekend.
By then we will know exactly who we will be helping (or not) by beating Uni :)
It has been a great season. I'm so pleased it has come down to the last round to decide the final outcome!

I think after this season, and especially for teams playing against North Wellington in Capital 1, everyone is well acquainted with the Capital Football rules and NZF Regulations. Haha.
