The final rounds of Capital 3 have turned into a joke. It may as well be Premier Regrade (if you've got spare team available) vs Central League regraders.

How many Central League guys are you getting for your game against Eastbourne? You know they will be stacked with players from their first team dont you?

A dog with a bone :)

Oh Krap!! You mean we'll have to play their first team as well!!!!!!
Look what happened when Stop Out sent their Central League side to play them.

anyone got the table after the first round (9 games) for this grade?
Permalink Permalink

doesn't matter, two rounds will be completed. Reason is places 2 and 3 are still open which matters for promo to capital 2

why wasn't there a double header in the weekend like cap 2 then???? if i remember rightly cap soccer said central league, camp prem, cap1 and 2 will be finished, not cap 3. teams either have 1,2 or 3 games left - about the same as some of the grades below them.

is this confirmed? if so have you seen the draw for next week?

Petone 3rd team still have 3 games to play. Supposedly a double header next weekend.

so if they are finishing cap 3 why not finish the rest of the grades - most grades have 2 games left like this one pretty intresting really

There was

CAPITAL 3:
Eastbourne            2    Wairarapa United      3
Lower Hutt City       1    Wgtn Un Dreamers      1
North Wellington      2    LHC Ancient Ones      1
Kapiti Coast United   7    Petone                3
Uni Gossies           3    Tawa                  2

CAPITAL 3: Eastbourne 2 North Wellington 1 Lower Hutt City 5 Uni Gossies 0 Wgtn Un Dreamers 4 LHC Ancient Ones 0 Tawa 2 Kapiti Coast United 2 Not sure why petone and Wainui didn't play. i assume they have already played each other twice

At the moment Welly U and Kapiti are 3rd and 2nd but Welly U have a game in hand (vs SportZone's lot) which if they win will put them 2nd. Then it comes down to the last round game which for Welly U is against University. Until things are certain games that matter (maybe not the ones that don't) will be played. I think the draw won't come out until they find some grounds - I've heard for example that the IB/University playoff for Cap2/Cap 1 will be in Levin!!

2nd best those were saturdays results were they not

no the top lot is Saturday's games, the bottom lot is Sunday's.

Welly's should fancy themselves against Uni after Uni lost to LHC third team 5-0!

problem is they are a bit like the Hurricanes. You never know when the sh*t hot side will turn up. And that Lower Hutt side now has one Phil Patterson, the left back from CL, and a pretty useful Chilean guy who screams a lot (they played us Saturday). And I assume the side for Sunday had another 3 CL guys added to it.

Or more. The regrading rules have made a bit of a farce of this league. I had 3 CL guys playing on Saturday and we still got caned 7-3. WE never really got a look in. I only recognised 1 KCU player from the team we beat in the 1st round. They even changed the coach!!

You know it's got out of hand when the coaches bench is being stacked!

What bench! He spent most of the time on the pitch going crazy at the ref.

Uni lads were hungover after celebrating the title!!!    And you're right... Phil Paterson and what looked like 3-4 of his team- mates from the premier league team were playing

The problem was for Saturday that Capital Football had scheduled the final of the 16/17th JPL grade for 12.00 (they usually play at 9am) and a number of these guys also play in the Cap 3 team.  The side for Sunday didnt get any more CL guys, in fact only 2 CL guys played.

my apologies I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions like that. There's a big difference between using higher graded players to help out with numbers and stacking a side to ensure victory and sounds like LH were doing the former (as we are too I freely admit). Was a really good game on Sat against LH too, although that Chilean guy was very annoying.

Yeah that guy let his team down with all the diving and screaming. Played sh*t for a CL player to. I think the game had potential to be a cracker but the ref made a circus of it (6 yellows, 2 reds?? and probably a 2 out of 10 from his assessor). Fair result in the end tho.

Fuck this stupid game

i think you are right it was a fair result,I agree on the ref front, as i said to  wgtn utd coach?? the best ref we have had all season is the 1st round game when no ref turned up and one of the wgtn utd guys reffed, (lhc won 2-1) Given the situation he done a marvellous job,.As for LHC Stacking thier team, if you call playing a 45/50yr old (full game) and havin a 56yr old on the bench then yes it was stacked, and on sunday they only had 2 CL players and a guy from their 5th team. Also note petone played 3 CL players on sat also, so everyone is doing this.

I've already apologised for getting it wrong, so lay off with the birch. On to refs, I did Welly U v Lower Hutt Ancients on Sunday and although I might have missed a couple of things, I was right on most but more importantly no one moaned at all because I used a bit of common sense. So if I can do it why can't the average ref in Capital 3 do the same? One of life's mysteries.

Oh no doubt everyone is doing it. Everyone that can anyway. Some more than others (olympic).

Yeah most games ref themselves tho if the players aren't head cases and sometimes when a ref steels the show it just ruins the game. I've seen it happen in cap 3 and higher leagues too.

Fuck this stupid game

so my DIV 8 team had their first ever real ref fro some reason on Saturday and he was abysmal

there is a space for a rating on the team card- any advice? is a 2 too harsh (he was sh*te- the principal figure in the game- i.e.the star of the show)

So its across the board then. I think you should rate the ref the way you saw it..maybe ask some team mates if they agree first. I know some people always give the ref high ratings thinking it will help their team down the track with that ref but I think thats only going to make things worse. A little bit off topic but Meh.

The ref ratings is just for the popularity contest. I don't think it is actually to measure their aptitude at reffing.

Dreamers 2 Petone 1 - Dreamers into Capital 2 for next season. Well done to the boys for a successful end to a long season that finished today.

haha yeah man. That plus LHC dropped about 5 men from their first team..easy to win in these conditions.

It's a joke. There should be stricter rules on the number of players a team is allowed to drop each week. There should be lists.

That's the only reason why we (Uni Gossies) lost the last 2 games of the season. Because they dropped the professionals!
Had we not won our league yet, we would've been pretty damn pissed.

However the club did a great job, and the Gossies are the crowned champions of div 3!

And next year the first team will be back in div.1!
we're Uni, we're specialists in promotions!

Nice one N.Z power, you are bending the truth slightly and missing a few details, yes L/Huttt did have Phil patterson playin , as for 5 or 6 other 1st teamers, thats where its slightly wrong, they only had or 2 others playin, and you missed a interesting fact that L/Hutt beat uni in the 1st round, 3-1 if i remember correctly??

it was 3-2 and it was our 1st (and only, according to me) loss. No doubt that they deserved to win that day. I was there, and am to blame just as much as everyone else for that loss.
Regarding the last two games of the season, lucky you guys who could afford to drop Patterson other 1st team players. How about the south american guy? is he not to be named? Cause if i'm not mistaken he's a heck of a player and scored a hattrick. Without him, and perhaps without that awesome number 17 in the midfield, and without us still being drunk from the ravelling of the night before, then it would've been a different game.

But in the end I don't care, nobody does. We won the league. Full stop
