With the start of the Capital Season yesterday, we (Wairarapa united) came up against Petone, who by looking at last years table, should have been a bit easier than they were. However, it wasnt until I spoke to a couple of the players from Petone after the game, and they proceeded to tell me that they in fact are the Petone Armanis - who should of been playing Cap 3 after winning promotion. They explained that the Petone Club would not let them play in Cap 3 as they are a closed team that dont train. We can take some positives out of this as they are the current champs of cap 4. Shame that the other Petone team - who are in Cap 3 played Douglas Villa yesterday and got spanked. They even had to call on some of the Armanis to make up numbers. I can see where the Petone club are coming from regarding the Cap 3 position but at what cost? Loosing the Cap 3 position at the end of the year? Loosing players that dont want to be beaten every week? If the Armanis wanted a go at Cap 3, they should have been let in. Otherwise, a good game against a strong opposition. Good luck for the rest of the year (both Teams)

Drag up some discussion on this grade
Yesterday we ( Naenae ) beat Stokes Valley 1st team 3-1. Stokes Valley obviously no where near as strong as they used to be and to be honest we were just alot hungrier to get our first win. One cheap goal a piece from long balls over the keepers heads and two other well taken goals. I also hit the post off a free kick, I think it was about 22 yards about but after a few beers last night it ended up at around 28yards... hahaha. Looking forward to rolling on next week with another win against the Rapa'
