Not sure if there are any Cap 5ers on the forum but thought I'd throw this out there nonetheless.

Would be good to get some banter and post-match discussion going if there are.

Good first game for the Karori Boomers. 2-0 win, everyone was pretty happy. Made for a good night.

BNU looked to have started where they left off with an emphatic 4-1 win over newly relegated Eastbourne

by all accounts it was a good goal-scoring day for survivors of that Arctic flat of 2009

Naenae coach having to tackle his own player to subdue him (after sent off).

There are some holes in that from the descriptions of the incident I have heard.

I was assured by a number of witnesses that it wasn't out of the blue.  The actions weren't justified but the player was dragged to the ground by the collar and got up swinging.  Unjustified reaction.

I thought Cap 5 was the lowest grade CF guaranteed refs for? Seems like one was sorely needed judging by that match report.

I'm asking for one for the return leg!

I'm not sure that would end well for the Magpies but good call, be interested to know what they think the Naenae ref who had the game did wrong though.

Played against this Karori side on the weekend.  Game was played in good spirits with no bad tackles that I can remember.  Seemed a good bunch of guys.  Havent played Naenae yet though, so cant comment on there team.

Are you lads too stupid to realise that OTT aggro is less likely to happen with an appointed ref rather than one of your mates reffing?

With the state of the ref you'd probably get appointed in Capital 5 I'd debate that.

arguable, the refs in c5 are pretty good imo. at least with someone impartial they are not going to join the chaos.

Funny really because the Karori team thanked the ref and congratulated him at the end for how well he handled the situation. Being that it all started in backplay, out of his eye sight, if he had seen what the Karori player had done to provoke a reaction then he could of also red carded that player. However he obviously didn't and took the right cause of action by sending of the offending player who threw the haymakers which he did see. Not like he ran in trying to back up his own player or anything. He sent him off instead.

However if you want a real laugh watch the game on Number 2 afterwards.
