I watched Wainui play NW. Good even game played in good spirit. Wainui went up 1 - 0 midway through 2nd half and NW fought back well to get the draw which I thought was a fair result.
They had a ref supplied. He told the teams when the 1st sub was made that they couldn't do rolling subs. Both captains protested to no avail. Someone had the copy of the rules in their bag and gave them to the ref at the next stoppage so he agreed they could make the rolling subs.
1. Shouldn't the refs know the rules?
2. It's the players game, why would the ref try and ruin it by not allowing the rolling subs, its a social grade after all and all the players want their share of game time.
sound like NW coming together compared to last year ….
the ref probably remembers the old rule of "if the captains before the start agree to rolling subs it will be allowed but if no agreement before the start then the normal sub rules will apply" or something like that but now it has been changed and is very loose so he will now the change in status better.
nice to see div6 getting a ref though.
good sportsmanship and fair playing field is all we ask for
but all we get is talk and goal posts moving
