Hello all.

Representing Tawa AC United, newcomers to Cap 7 this year.

In 2012 we narrowly missed out on the Cap 8 League trophy, but managed to win the Cup final and gained promotion with the restructuring.

I see a few familiar sides on the table.. but who's the team to beat in '13?

This thread is a bit quiet this year. Saints are looking forward to another good Tawa derby this year, always a tough game against you guys.

We started the season against a very good uni scarfies side. Game started out pretty even, but they had a very handy striker, once they got one they got 2,3,4.... Will be interesting to see how they go this year, or whether the archilies of all uni teams will rear its head (players away for uni holidays).

Its a bit early to see how the league will shake up, very disrupted preseason with the grounds being closed, so things may change once people start playing together again. Hows everyone liking the turfs, so far all our games have been on them, so enjoying them compared to the poor grass pitches we tend to end up on, but not enjoying the 7.30 wakefield game (2nd one tonight), can't have it all your way

I've been quiet this year...being the goalkeeper for Capital 7 Lower Hutt this year you can imagine why...

@ FC_Shaza

Likewise, nothing like a derby eh!

Turfs definitely suit our style (or attempt at style) of play - great for fast passing and quick movement.
It's going to be something of a novelty playing on real grass this weekend for us.

@ Lil Joe 17
In your defense (that could turn into a bad pun), looks like you've played most of the top teams in the table so far, besides us this weekend. Hopefully the 10 players in front of you manage a bit better on Saturday!

2-0 loss...wasn't so bad haha. Whole team was a bit better...one of the better performances we've had all season. Still would be nice to play one of the teams in the bottom half!

Lil Joe maybe you should be playing up front with the lack of goals coming in.  i will work on getting a message to the powers that be.  Clearly a managerial team unable to make the tough calls.

Lower Hutt beat Tawa Saintz 2-1 at Onepoto.

Tawa were given a very harsh penalty which I'll say no more about but that was saved in the last 10 to keep it 2-1 for us.

Don't know about me playing up front I've been good in goal so far Matt...can't be everywhere at once!

To be fair, the penalty you guys got was just as harsh. But you guys converted it and we didn't, that was the difference at the end of the day.

We were pretty poor and can't blame anyone else, created very few and fluffed most of them.

Will be a tough game next week against AC if we play like that again

I must admit the Moose v Tawa game will not be remembered for the high standard of the officiating!! Looks a bit like a 2 tier league, tight at the top and the bottom. Good to see us Moosies keeping our goal difference under control in case relegation comes down to that. . .

Painful loss for AC United yesterday. 1st in 12 months (including offseason of course). Came back from 2-0 down to 2-2 then conceded a harsh penalty in last 5 minutes. Outplayed by IBU mostly but still felt hard done by! Match against Stop Out next Monday will be a biggie.

Looking forward to playing IBU again this Saturday! Capital Football site for Cap7 is displaying the table a little wonky but should read like this currently I believe (after 10 games):

01 Tawa AC United 27pts

02 IBU - Dreamers 25pts

03 Stop Out 25pts

04 Wellington United Elite 18pts

05 North Wellington Marrons 11pts

06 Victoria University Scarfies 10pts (played 9)

07 Wellington Olympic TFTs 9pts

08 Tawa Saintz 7pts

09 Lower Hutt City AFC 5pts (played 9)

10 Naenae 4pts

yeah, the cap footy website is not so great

if you click on "Round 18 results", then click on "Table" it gives you the right table.

Your table is right though.

Top certainly looking like running away with it.  Should be a good scrap for the 2 promotion spots.

We (Wgtn Utd Elite) have managed to turn our season round a bit after an awful start (spanked by AC and then Scarfies).  Won 5 on the bounce now which is pleasing :)

looking forward to playing Lower Hutt on the weekend.  Always a tough game against those guys.

Our games vs Wellington United Elite are always really entertaining and good natured. Would be a shame to see either of us get promoted or relegated as I think it's been 4 years in a row I've played against that lot now.

Would be extremely harsh on 3rd place not to get promoted this season! Would be devastated if I was the team that finished 3rd.

I personally was hoping to offer a draw to Elite this weekend and just head straight off down to the pub!! For an older gent CJ is bloody tough to bring down I must say.

Big win for us on Saturday. A.C United's first win over IBU in two seasons which we were very stoked with. Handshakes all round after the match but it got pretty ugly once we cemented our lead, leg breaking threats, swearing at the ref etc. Not used to losing I guess.

Looking forward to playing Elite again, sounds like it will be a markedly different match from our first encounter!

yup, all the boys looking forward to playing AC again.  Hopefully the weather doesn't cancel us, but it is not looking too good at this stage!

Good win over LH on the weekend.  Everything we hit seemed to go in and their ref was kind to us with a couple of favourable offside calls!

Hope LH manage to stay up as they are a good bunch of lads - especially the central defender who was nice enough to let me run past him on the wing ;)
