You going to make it this time? Martin Luckie Park, never even heard of it. Near Wakefield according to Google.

Sure am! Neither..... The same offer as last time is still on. We can get the ground switched to St Pats at 8pm on the Monday after with approval from you guys.

Most of us tend to prefer Saturday afternoon so should probably leave it as it is.

Barons take a 3-0 win at home against the Aces! Huge turn around after they thumped us 5-0 in the previous leg.

Yeah well done. Pretty gutted after 3 wins in a row. Was looking for a second clean sheet too given our previous meeting.

Really disjointed game from us, we never really got going and nothing went our way. Didn't manage to play anything like we have over the last few games. We had a bye the week before the break so hadn't played for 3 weeks, or trained much due to the weather and only a handful turning up to training the week of the break. I guess a bit like the Phoenix with the Asian Cup break, the bye followed by the Queen's Birthday week off came at the wrong time for us with us being in confident form with 3 wins on the trot.

Chuggers next week who hammered us in the first game this season so we're going to have play a lot better than today to avoid a similar result.

Was a tight game with Chuggers,  both sides had great opportunitiesto win it. Ball hit the post at either end multiple times.

Looking forward to our game against the Xeros tomorrow!

Let's be honest know, Chuggers are a really good team but that was a thoroughly enjoyable game. (Apart from the weather). 4-0 to them.

Anyone up for a preseason game next weekend?

Do you have a ground? We (Stokes Valley Stormin' Norman's) have been desperately looking for a game all pre-season.

We thought we had a game, but couldn't get a pitch, so if you are keen in trouncing a cpaital 12 team, we will play you.

Draw is out and looks like only us and the Barons have remained in the division from last year. Looking at last year's tables the rest of the teams seem to have moved from 9 and 10.

Was an enjoyable first game, hopefully bodes well for a better season than last year. We've had a large exodus of players and have half a new squad this year so was a good first competitive game together.

Hi mate,

Can you put it to your team and see if they would be keen for a Monday or Friday night game on the turf?

A lot of my mates are in the Porirua Saint Germain team and seem to be confident for the season ahead after recruiting well over the off season. Looks like it will be a close race for top position this year

Yeah, they seem to be knocking in the goals left right and centre but they are conceding at the back to. Amigos are looking quite good with three 1-0 wins. Crazy having a centre back of that quality at the back to.

Really gutted on Saturday against them. We probably had more chances and a bit more of the ball, and both teams hit the bar. Looked set for a 0-0 draw which would have been fair then they scored in the 88th minute. Football is a cruel game.

Good game. Similar story again for us. 1-0 up at half time, lost it in the 2nd half. Have kept a clean sheet in the first half of every game so far and lost 3 times in the 2nd half. Tough defending against the 7 foot giant you have up front.

Yeah, I wasn't there but heard the boys played well. Thanks for moving it for us, really appreciate it. This is a philosophic post from one of the more random members of our group...

"Came home to this. Given my relationship with fire, I watch closely yet cautiously. Why the burst of endorhpins? The Barons secured a 3-1 victory against past rivals,The Aces. You see a team with a bunch of old and young footballers heading from thier busy week for a Friday night game in Welly. All in thier own spirits, the rush of adrenaline, done with the week and looking to the weekend in store. Mixed nationalities i might add, there's the monstrous Englishman, the crafty Belgian, the notorious Czech, the bold Irishman and ofcourse, a whole basket of Kiwis. (Punn intended!). As i plan for the marathon of the Best marigold hotel flicks, i take a look at what we accomplished today, a feat we'd be proud of, a win to a better season! Up the Barons!"
