Anyone else here playing in Cap 8? Four Karori teams (I'm in one of them) so guess most of the season will be at Karori/Ben Burn.

How does that happen by the way? Should there be a maximum number of teams from one club in a social league? I'm inclined to think yes.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

You're just thinking about having to play against Feverish 8 times considering he cracked your ribs last time.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Don't know, but yeah seems weird to have half the league being from one club. There were 3 last season, not sure whether the 4th one has come up or down.

One of my workmates is in a Karori team in Cap 8 and they got promoted up from Cap 9 last year

Ah right, that will be Glory then. The other 3 remain in 8 from last season.

Apparently they beat a Cap4 or 5 side in preseason too.

Sweet, I'll keep an eye out for him. I'm a centre back so I'll probably be marking him. Hope he's not too quick. I'm not as fast as I once was (which wasn't fast in the first place).

Any other scouting info you can give us?

Pretty dire 5-1 loss to the Chuggers for us today. They were one of the bottom teams last year and we beat them twice but seemed to be a completely new team. Remember them being older guys last year but a lot of them must have moved to Masters and they were a much younger team today. They got off to a great start and we were 3-0 down inside the first 15 minutes or so. Came back into things and got a goal, and had a few more chances and hit the post. But they got another couple in the 2nd half. Pretty poor day.

Also Karori Meke seem to have pulled out so there's 9 teams in the division now. Feverish was advertising on here for players for them the other day so guess they couldn't quite make up a squad.

yeah manager of Meke went away for a bit and when he came back some guys had pulled out for whatever reason. I get an email a few days out from the season saying it was looking dire (was sweet a few weeks back). So yeah apols to the other teams

No worries, guess there might be a few spare Karori players then. We were a bit short today and had some fill ins so could maybe call on them in future.

In case you couldn't tell by the name, we are the Barons UTD team. Rather new team so be easy lads. If anyone has turf we are happy to switch to your home for our home games.

Looking for a team to share ST Pats turf with on Monday nights. Would get half a field with lights etc.

5-2 win for the Aces over Glory in the first Karori derby of the season today. Much better than last week when we'd lost the game in the first 15 minutes. Glory started quite strong but we didn't concede early this time. They did take the lead about midway through the first half and we equalised before half time. Second half we got a couple of early goals to go 3-1 up then they hit back to 3-2, but we managed a couple more to make it safe. 4 goals to our striker. Difference to last week was a lot more talking and just being more composed. We panicked after conceding in the first minute last week and the game was over before we'd had any real possession of the ball.

Looking forward to another derby against Sealords next week.

Lost 2-3 to IBU but fair to say we didn't have the best of starts.... conceding within 40 secs.... ( When I told the boys to go out there and play like the Phoenix I think they got the wrong idea....)

Barons chasing their first win on Wellington soil ever, will it be at Ben Burn? More importantly is their a pub near that ground or is the better choice Bethel Woods?

There are two pubs in Karori. Both only 800m or so from Ben Burn Park.

(Named after the Hon Benjamin Burn, the last mayor of Karori before it

amalgamated with Wgtn.) And there's always the Wharf clubbies at KP.

hope to see the Barons down the wharf clubbies. Cheap Tuatara and a full cafe. Entertainment of watching the legendary Dreamers get trash talked by the Bubbles from the balcony.

Yeah just come to the KP clubrooms a bit further up Karori Road. We'll be playing the Sealords on number 3 at 2.30. As for your opposition, you'll need to keep the blonde guy in midfield quiet as everything goes through him. Their quick striker is the other one to watch out for.

where is your club loyalty giving the game plan of one of your teams away??????

or do that team not fully support the club and patronise the clubrooms and talk football after the match?

and you are hoping the barons will be proper football heads and show up and have a yak and a drink ?

not knocking you just inquiring about your motive.

good sportsmanship and fair playing field is all we ask for

but all we get is talk and goal posts moving

Didn't mean anything by it, just made a comment about a team we've played in the hope I might get back info about other teams. I didn't say anything they won't see for themselves in the first 2 minutes anyway.

Tough 3-2 loss to Sealords in our second Karori derby today. Was a really good game and we were unlucky not to take a point. Went 1-0 up in the first half through a penalty but got pegged back to 1-1 at half time. Went down 2-1 early in the 2nd then got back to 2-2. Very nearly scored to go 3-2 up when their keeper fumbled a shot and managed to claw it off the line at the 2nd or 3rd attempt before anyone could get there to tap it in then they scored with about 15 minutes to go and managed to hold us out..

Ok so i Didn't read the comment by AJC28 but i wish we did. That blonde guy is super quick and scored in the first 5minutes :(. Hard lesson for us lads in our first season but we got a contender for goal of the season and managed to get it on video.

Just on a point, I'm all about supporting the away clubs and when we asked about a pub near by, the club rooms weren't suggested so we went to our usual. ( Not from Wellington).

1-4 loss in the end, Not to worry we crack on!

Will make sure we pop in on the club rooms next time.

weird comment. Why don't you ask the away club where their clubrooms is in future and not the local pub (and considering you already know). I guess you must be very new to wgtn

Don't quite get what you mean by ''considering you already know''. We asked where the best place to drink was after the game and the club rooms weren't mentioned. But all is good we will check out the wharfies club rooms next time. What team are you in Feverish?

We told you above the other day that the clubrooms were down the road. I'm club captain and I sort the bar so I like to see folks there - don't expect oppo to come from Ben Burn but always nice

Weird the opposition didn't mention the club rooms, although I don't think we saw them in there last week after we played them at KP either. You're welcome to join us when we play you.

Home (at Wilton) to Petone Stonecutters tomorrow. Should be a really tough game, they were good last year and surprised they didn't go up. Hoping they won't know what hit them when they see the Wilton pitch!

That was awful. We went 2-0 down early but did well to fight back to 2-2 at half time and went into the break feeling like we were on top. Then they scored within seconds of the kick off and that was that. Not really sure what happened but we got destroyed in the 2nd half and it ended up 9-2. Can't remember a more miserable day I've ever had playing sport.
