So some very interesting changes.

BNU stay in Cap 1 as Stokes Valley drop all the way to Cap 4.
Stop Out stay in Cap 2 despite finishing below Seatoun who drop to Cap 3
Douglas Villa enter cap 3
3 teams (Marist, BNU, North Well) drop from Cap 4 to Cap 5.
3 teams (Lower Hutt Sangham, Marist, Mirimar) drop from Cap 5 to Cap 6.

Do the draws still only come out the monday before a game? (for divisions lower than capital 1 or prem)Tegal2010-03-17 17:06:46

The final table for Cap 2 last year was calculated wrong. Stop Out had a better goal difference than Seatoun by about 5 or 6 goals i think. Luckly for us we stayed up

Bollocks - we were originally playing Wests 2nd team on Easter Monday - would of been nice to play them when they actually were their 2nd team

nakisponge is correct

Capital 2 league table was incorrect at the end of last season. Only really became an issue when Stokes Valley withdrew from Capital 1 as both Stop Out and Seatoun were 7 pts behind the 8th placed side in Capital 2 Kaori Vistas.

Both teams had 10 points but Stop Out had the better goal difference so stay in Capital 2.

Seatoun's goal difference = -34
Stop Out's goal difference = -29

No.  Club.

Been playing top level of Rapa leagues decided they want to trek over the hill.  Rules say they pop in to Cap 3.

I think they ran the best one day junior tournament in the Wellington region (after the coastlands cup) back in the day aswell. I used to love the trek out to the 'Rapa for that.

What's the deal with all the levels? How do you figure out if a team is "Cap 3" worthy, vs "Cap 10" etc?

Ahh fair enough. I was just curious, as it was noted the Dougie Villa team entered at CAP 3.

I assume this is due to them playing at that level in the Wairarapa then.

villa will do alright in capital 3, we played them in chatham cup the year we won capital 1 and beat them 7-0, not bad considering we beat teams in capital 1 by the same amount that year lol

Rapa league is a joke and Villa's only thrill each year is their one or two games in the Chatham Cup so no surprise they want to come over.  Nice ground near the town centre in Masterton.  Bit of a drive for the away teams in Cap 3.....

They had Wairarapa in the grade last year so no real change.
Are you still in OZ Orpewise?

Yes still in Tasmania.  My club Kingston Cannons has amalgamated with the club we ground share with (Christian United) to form a new club called Southern FC.  Our season starts this Sunday with a game against Woodbridge FC at the Hobart Showgrounds.

As you see by my posts I try to keep in touch with events in my old turf. Sad my old Mana team bit the dust but the young boys who took over the Porirua City slot are serious about winning their division this year (breaking Div 16 rules by pre season training etc).

There is an issue with promo0tions from the bottom division in that the top two or three teams are often way above the standard of the rest of the league.  When clubs have multiple teams in the league they can "promote" teams themselves by allocating them a club slot (some of the Karori teams for instance have benefited here.

With PC there are only two teams in the mens league.  Last year there were several teams that needed to go up...one got a promotion during the season (AC Tawa) and they have held there new position in the new league.  I agree that PC should have gone higher.

Here in Hobart there is only promotion/relegation between the Premier Division and Division 1.  All other slots are negotiated by the clubs and the FFA in the pre season.  This enables clubs to be realistic about teams.  For instance one team ran away with the Div 4 title last year but knew over the summer that several key players were being snapped up by Div 1 and Premier teams, so they are staying in Div 4.

In Capital soccer from Div 7 down it should be that way.

Easter - some family life must be allowed early season.

it is ridiculous to start on Easter weekend really- in saying that we got 13 players together and our oppo had 15.

And to stay on topic, when is the draw coming out? did CF have the weekend off?
