It has just been brought to my attention that Capital Football have scheduled the first Federation training session at Trentham Memorial Park on Tuesday 12 October from 6.30-8pm.

you been selected?
Don't think they're looking for crap, overweight, slightly alcoholic Croats who hadn't played for a year.
If they are, I'm their man.

I am very pleased to announce that Laura Menzies and Phil Barry are joining the Capital Football Board as a result of our recent appointment process. They bring an excellent mix of skills to the Board.
Laura currently works for the Hutt City Council as Sport Relationship Manager, and she has a very strong background in sport management in badminton, basketball and with the Wellington Phoenix. She is a keen football player and is the captain of the Wellington United Central League Women's team.
Phil is a Director of a corporate advisory company and has held a number of senior positions with the NZ Treasury, the OECD in Paris and with the Prime Ministers Department. He has been involved with junior football as a coach and team manager and he has been a player in Masters grades over the past ten years. He is also a former Club Captain of Victoria University Football Club.
We are fortunate to people of this calibre join and strengthen our Board. Football is growing all the time in our federation and a strong and well-rounded Board is important in ensuring this growth continues. I know all our members will join with me in welcoming Laura and Phil to the administration of our game.

new CEO is Richard Reid, the cricketer (not the shoe bomber) Disappointing not to have someone familiar with footy, let alone NZ/local footy.

Hmmm interesting choice (for him and us), from Rugby to Football (I'm assuming it's the same guy), we will have to see how he goes I guess.

All 13/14th grades will be spread throughout midweek based on artificial turfs. This means every second week a team may play on a Saturday and then have a midweek game commencing at 4:40pm.
I wonder how many coaches can get out of work by 4pm.

I'd have thought more artificial turfs means less cancelled games which in turn means less midweek games.

Source says:
CF has the use of 10 junior playing times on a Saturday morning 6 at Wakefield and 4 at Petone (and that isnt built yet!!!!) We do not have WC on a Saturday morning nor do we have Te Whaea.
Last season we had 41 13th & 14th Grade games across the Wgtn area.
Somehow 41 doesnt go into 6 (10) very well

Some kids also have after school commitments (or detention).

Just get the kids to drive themselves to the games, like that 8-year old this morning.

Unfortunately if he had nicked his old mans car it would be on auto-pilot to the nearest bakery.

Seems two weeks out from the start of the season, only draw available is for Central League. C'mon Cap Football, sort your sh*t out, how hard can it be?
Pretty sure some teams are still to be confirmed, so might just be waiting until they can release a full and correct draw
Permalink
Surely though they could at least release a preliminary draw. Can not be many teams across the 15 or so Cap football divisions that still have to be confirmed.

I know for a fact that there are some teams tbc, so yeah that would be why. they'l wait another week i reckon.

Can someone please post it? Cant wait to check out the first round of fixtures
