Any way they go is going to rub people up the wrong way. I just wish they had begun this planning far sooner and been more transparent with the process.
It's not exactly fair to teams looking to go up to CL2, now seeing the Welly teams are throwing their toys out because they don't want to potentially travel to Gisborne once, and the NL teams aren't going to be able to stockpile players as easily (saw that Olympic had Zatorski, Barton-Ginger, Bouzoukis, and many other CL players playing Cap Prem). If Gisborne make it up and are able to pay for the travel, it shouldn't be down to the Welly teams to decide if they feel like it or not.
The Taradale WCL is not a good example, as there had been underlying issues plaguing the womens setup there, including discontent from last season after their coach was suspended for swearing at his players.
With the introduction of National League next year, the CL2 was always going to decline a little in quality, but so will Central League in fairness.
