Wasnt helped by welly united dropping several players to the seconds who had a big game in cap prems, absolute nightmare decision surely. Espec when the seconds still lost. Could be an entertaining second half of the season

Vale had four players on debut against Utd and they played incredibly well for where they are on the table.

Several? It was two. I don't know why it happened but it obviously didn't help the reserves, they beat stop out the week before with out them so I'm not sure 'stacking' was the objective. You and I both know those two players certainly wouldn't have reversed the CL result.

Mirimar have signed Tyler Boyd from Melville, very good young player, all the best

So are these young phoenix recruits going to be playing in the central league this weekend? Apart from those who have been playing previously. And if so who are they all playing for?

I heard that it will only be a couple of weeks before those who are playing CL will be pulled from their teams and won't take any further part in it as they get in to full time training with the Nix. Not sure what the reasoning is but I wouldn't think the kids from out of town will transfer for the sake of a couple games and not much point for the clubs either.

From Andrea Singh's article
"Sitting last on the Central League table, Maycenvale are floundering in their second season of the top winter competition amid speculation only one Bay team will be allowed to remain next season.

Really?  Has anyone else heard this rumour, or is it Singh just butchering the likelihood of Maycenvale being relegated?  Can't see the Central Fed standing for limits on the nuber of their teams 'allowed' to play in the top league.

Damn this ridiculous forum, how do you bold text when tags don't work?

Singh butchers every article he writes. Joe Morris was not Miramar's GK either and Singh even spoke to Michael O'Keefe after the game apparently so he should have known. You can't really take anything he writes seriously because he's in fantasy land.

Big chance for petone this weekend if the news coming out of wairarapa is true but have to wonder some times. Cant see too many other upsets this week.

A petone win would be fantastic.... opens doors for Olympic, Miramar and Napier!

Not quite the Petone win but the weekends results have blown the CL wide open. 4 teams at least may be close to the last game before they know how the table will look.

Good game at Endeavour today. Lower Hutt keeper picking up a pass back just before halftime gave Wests a free kick about 12 yards out, which was nicely tucked away. LH also had a goal disallowed a little earlier, a good solid header from a wide cross but was climbing all over the Wests defender. Lower Hutt dominating the posession but were largely clumbsy and wastefull up front the entire game, and were made to pay for that on about 80mins when a long throw beat their entire defensive line and fell nicely for an easy slot passed the keeper from 6 or so yards. The only shot Wests had that half as well. But in those final 10mins Lower Hutt managed to pull back a couple and salvage a late draw. Will need to play a lot better if they want a Chatham Cup final.

Table, looking like a real chance of going to last game to settle the winner.

Reckon Olympic's draw today puts them out of contention.

Wairarapa definately in pole position.  They have a depleted Miramar team next week (A) , Lower Hutt (H) then Napier (A).

Napier have Wests (A), Olympic (H), Wairarapa (H), Miramar (H).

Miramar have Wairarapa (H), Wellington United (A), Maycenvale (H), Petone (H), Napier (A), Lower Hutt (H)

Great game today, Miramar v Wairarapa, may well be the league decider.

It's between Napier and Wairarapa now. Who will blink first. Word is Gisbourne has pull out of play off for CL so wanganui city v Pnorth Marist to play off . Then winner plays U/Hutt

Watched Mar V Rapa today and it was pretty entertaining.  Mar missing Fleming, Doyle, Rowe, Farrington, Gulley, Nathu, and O'Keffee.

Pretty even game.  Rapa took at lead midway through the first half.  Stayed that was until the second half time when Mar were awarded a penalty, and Rapa defender was sent off in the process.  That tied it up 1-1, although Rapa scored within a few minutes to make it 2-1.  Mar again equalised, but saw Rapa again take the led moments later.

Last couple of minutes saw a couple of point blank saves from Imray, and two more cleared off the line. Draw would have been a fair result.

Mar still have a chance of sneaking in don't they? Need to win their last five though (and have other results go their way)

Wests looking woeful at endeavour today, was 3-1 to Tawa when i left with about 10mins to go. Youth < Experience. Theyre only a shadow of the side they were a few seasons ago.

On the opposite pitch Vale came back from 2-0 down at half time to lead 2-3 with a few minutes to go
