You might have to elaborate on that Fever, although you are asking a question. .

I dont think I have ever heard him referred to as that in all the time that I have known him.

Some would say he was conservative in his way of running the club, particularly when it came to spending money, but he managed club debt well while we were building and extending clubrooms, installing lighting etc to the stage where we have a great base for all levels of the game and for that reason we have survived. Re signing on fees and other payment of players, we have always been at the lower end of the scale as a rule and made do with what we develop from within. Makes for a friendly club most of the time. Like your club we are big in numbers with new teams arriving every season to be part of a club that has a good spirit. Its done me for 40+ years. Actually, make that 50+

Glad to see that the club have chosen to recognise John's past and continued contribution to Petone in that way.

agreed but i am sure/hoping central league will still go ahead unlike the rest of the games.

so this is why i am inquiring for the opinions of others as it might be the only football this weekend.

and the weather might give some teams a chance of a upset.

like it hurts me to say i think tawa might get up against the greeks and sneak a point or three….

they are playing on a good grass surface and the greeks probably don't remember what grass looks like.

I thought it was at Endeavour. Even more brutal that it was at DF

I assumed it must've been a Miramar second team or something but looking at Photomac's photos I recognise a lot of first teamers.

Upper Hutt 4-4 with Petone must have been a hell of a game.

Tawa will be breathing a sigh of relief that UH did not find a 5th as that would have put Tawa bottom.  Cant see UH getting any more points though with Wests and PNM away and Mar at home between them as their games left.

Unfortunately had to leave at half time. Petone up 2-1 at that stage. Apparently Upper Hutt 4-3 up and Petone equalised after 96 minutes!

Yes some poor refereeing first UH keeper taken out clear foul should have been a free kick and referee allowed play on, and where he found 6 minutes of extra time from no one else but him seems to know. Very dissapointing when your fighting for survival. Big ups to the Upper Hutt team though very gutsy performance and deserved more!

Petone 3 - 1 up at one stage then UH scored three to take the lead in injury time only for Benn Dawson to get the equaliser virtually with the last kick of the ball.

Both teams have to play Miramar and PN, the other remaining games being Wairapapa v Tawa and Wests v UH.

Tawa one point ahead but UH are scoring goals. Goal difference 3 to the positive for Tawa.

Would like to see two down from central league then two up. Gives a chance to the side finishing second in the prem. Otherwise season gone for most, nothing to play for

Not sure how that could work with the Central Federation in the mix.

There are still 3 teams who could win Cap Prem this year.

2ndbest you'll love this. Ran into Riley Kelliher before and asked him what happened in the Miramar game. He said "I think we just wanted it a lot more."

That is all

think you might be a bit brash there Spencer…

NCR vs petone i think a bit tighter of a draw or NCR win

wests run is easy to pick and the score is of no matter as points is the big one for UH and there will be none here.

palmy vs lower hutt will depend on how the palmy injury list is looking and feel they might have the edge and take 3 points at home.

i hope Rapa take all three off tawa and should

but your MIramar 3 in a row and them at home i feel is off the mark and i think there might be some whip lash dealt out and the greeks are going to have to take it along with a small loss.

but hay i have been wrong before…...
