Have heard that Calvin Harris is unavailable for this weekends WU fixture, any news on this??

He was available, scored 2, including a cracker from 25 meters out, then got sent off for a second yellow as Wellington United won 4-1 over Olympic

no just looked at the photo I had of it, probably more 20 (but then everyone knows you add 5 meters on to shots like that!)

also if its a 1 game ban (which I think it is for 2 yellows), he'll just miss the catch up game against Lower Hutt on Wednesday

Enjoyed it but very one sided. Havelock looked very green, and pretty to keep XI out there I though. Great afternoon in the sun and $9 brave IPAs made it even better after we'd ridden there from Napier

wheels are falling off for Rapa, 2-1 loss to Wharfies. Havelock beat the Greeks as well, 2-1. Stop Out beat Miramar 5-2.

Wins for Wests and Lower Hutt tomorrow would leave the top five separated by four points. On the other hand, Napier could go five points clear if they and Wests both win.

Wheels falling off for Rapa? or are they just missing Ifill who's off in Hong Kong. Remember they will have Watson back next week (and possibly Kaltack and Chettleburgh)

Can see Napier and Wests winning, Napier cause they are better than Lower Hutt and Wests cause several of the United team are away in Hong Kong

Their reserves only had bare 11 yesterday so depth definitely lacking at Rapa at the moment

rumour has it that a coach who was sent off for foul and abusive language towards a match official recently has been allowed to appeal his 4 week ban, despite other coaches this season and last not being able to appeal their 4 week bans.

Miramar will have few players back next week but not enough to take the 2nd team to a CL tittle

Wests had parker-price, wilkins and mccowatt back from Auckland city, and were looking fearsome. United struggled, especially in the 2nd half. Finished 3-0.

possibly weren't allowed to appeal last season

but these are the regs this season

13.Protests and Appeals

  1. 13.1. Any Club playing in the CL may bring a dispute or protest to The Manager.
  2. 13.2. A protest shall be made, within three days of the breach (includingSunday), by forwarding a written statement, on the Club’s letterhead, setting out the breach complained of and the name of the Club, player or persons complained against to The Manager.
  3. 13.3. On receipt of the protest, as outlined above, a copy of the protest will be forwarded to the offending Club by The Manager. The Manager will make the necessary enquiries into the matters placed before him and advise his/her decision to the party or parties concerned.

Central League Regulations – 11

  1. 13.4. A fee of $100.00 + GST will be charged for protests from all Clubs. This fee will be retained if the protest is proven to be frivolous.
  2. 13.5. Each Club has the right of appeal against any ruling of The Manager to New Zealand Football, as per NZF Disciplinary Code The appeal must be submitted to NZF through The Manager.

only 2 coaches I'm aware of been sent off so far this season, 1 was Declan at Wests, and given his response I doubt he'd have been appealing it.

The other was Paul Temple in the Wellington United v Olympic game

Those players will definitely make a difference, so will Miramar’s returning players. Trouble is, nearly half way through the comp, can only really see NCR or Wests winning it now.

Apparently he offered a few weeks back to fall on his sword if they didn't see an improvement, since then they have lost to Stop Out (7-2), Wellington United (4-1) and Havelock North (2-1).

But the ban is based on the report submitted by the official, this has always been considered a full and final account. The 4 week ban cannot be appealed, only a suspension greater than 4 weeks as it is decided by committee. So CF has either gone against the officials report or the official has withdrawn the complaint.

Can be appealed on what grounds? How can it be proved that a ref was wrong unless the match report is changed? Video is not accepted to prove an error due to the fact that not all games are filmed so it comes down to the word of the officials. If this position has been changed by CF it is a huge shift and opens them up to all sorts of appeals.

from Olympic facebook - Shaun Easthope new coach

Dear players, supporters and friends

Wellington Olympic advises that effective 21st May 2018 Stu Jacobs and James Prosser will no longer be with Wellington Olympic AFC. Both the board and the coaches have come to an agreement that in the best interests of all concerned we should part company, and we wish them well in their future footballing ventures.

Under Stu’s leadership the club won the Central League in 2016 and during his time introduced a youth development program through his Kaizen Academy. We have seen the development of our own Olympic players and introduced a group of young players that we hope will remain with Olympic.

This culminated in our U19 group reaching the final of the Napier tournament.

We wish Stu and James all the best in their future endeavours.

Our club has a proud history and we will remain an elite club striving for success.

We have appointed Shaun Easthope as head coach until the completion of the 2018 season. Shaun has been with our club for many years and is known to many of you. He comes with great credentials having recently worked for FIFA in the Pacific Islands. We welcome Shaun with open arms and look forward to working closely with him. He will be supported by Guille who has been part of the Club for 2.5 years alongside Stu. We are very pleased that Guille has decided to stay on and work alongside Shaun this season. Thank you Guille.

We have appointed Martin Pereya Garcia as our Capital Premier Team coach. Martin has been involved and coached at Olympic in the past so we are very happy to have him on board. Welcome back Martin.
