Wellington United lose 8-1 to West's. Rapa lose 9-0 to Miramar with hat trick to JH-S. Who would have thought with United losing the Nix they still wouldn't be in last place
Also see Stop Out beat North Wellington 4-3 and Karori beat Olympic 4-1.

That's a huge result for Wharf. Great to see them doing so well, they've had some really good results so far. Long may they continue.
Was there a board meeting at the sneeks over the weekend?
rumour has it that stop out are signing Justin Gulley and Scott Basalaj

Wouldn't Gulley have a stand down period as he been classed as a professional?

It's 30 days from your last professional game. So since that was the Brisbane Roar game on 12th April, he is fine.
what was the greek result ?

game was abandoned after 30 minutes due to wind and rain
Paul Ifill tweeted that game was going soft (the game was played on turf!)
And right next door a Cap3 game played a full 90 mins.
Understand that 3 members of the Olympic bench from the prior game (cap.prem) were treated for hypothermia. Games don't get abandoned due to weather, they get abandoned for player safety.

Maybe those benched need to dress more appropriately then....ridiculous that a game on the next pitch goes the full 90 but the central league match gets abandoned. Olympic were not playing well and were struggling against Rapa. Now the game has to replayed at the end of the season, when Olympic could be challenging for the title and Rapa needing to avoid relegation.
I am willing to wager that the cap 3 subs, were appropriately dressed, as they probably spent the game in the ibu clubrooms until required.
Rapa 3 nil up over North Wellington midway through first half, before NW pulled two quick goals back, with Rapa scoring just before the break to lead 4-2 at half time. Rapa certainly the better of the two teams in the first half, and had a couple of good chances to increase their lead further. NW scored 4 unanswered goals in the second half, with two goals coming in the last few minutes. Very entertaining game and Rapa certainly deserved better.
I watched Wests vs Olympic on Saturday. 3-1 Wests. Wests keep producing great young players huh? Great game to watch as a neutral

Caught the WeeNix Mar game. Thought the WeeNix were better than I expected, perhaps just lacking that bit of experience in the attacking third and the backline but that's to be expected.
Certainly had the Mar bench worried for most of the 2nd half and but for a penalty saved by Kampman would have got a point out of it.
Still can't deal with Yellow and Green though.

I hear Ufuk was there - you think he would have been interested in what he saw?
I imagine so. The WeeNix are quite young but the Mar side had a good chunk of Team Wellington players who i imagine are on the broader 'have a look' list. Shrijvers, J-H S, Joel Stevens, Kilkolly.
Heard talk he's off to catch at least one game this weekend as well.
Taylor Shrijvers looked the best player on the park for me, playing in a holding midfield role. He would certainly have the physicality and athleticism alone to do well in the A-League. Got decent pace for a big lad too.
Seemed to me like LH just had no "B" game plan to try and change things up which might have got them a different result, they were incredibly insistent on playing the same way for the whole game, it's commendable but sometimes at this tier of football you need to be able to offer something different.
Depends what your end goal is.
Max Batchelor to leave LH.
Very tight 3rd through 8th

Is that a hope, a threat, a dream or is there an indication somewhere this is about to happen?

He appears on this team sheet for today
And Willem Ebbinge?
Must be back for summer holidays.

Ebbinge doesn't start at US College until late July I believe.
suspect Keegan Smith dislocated shoulder today

Yep, that tweet had speculative made up list.
Not sure where from. When Ebbinge left Smith was still at WU, Old is now #10 and Batchelor has definitely gone.

that list is from the back of a program, so can't really be relied on for anything especially at this level.
In professional teams they get assigned squad numbers which makes it easy, this league some coaches don't even know who will be turning up on Saturday so there is no way the poor program editors can get it right (suppose I should declare I'm one of those poor program editors!)
Wests take on NW in a 2nd vs 3rd battle.
NCR dropped 2 points yeaterday away to Rapa, so a win for NW today will jam that top 3 right up.
A win for Wests makes it a two horse race.
1-1 Draw.
Meet again in the Cup this weekend, should be a cracker
I wonder how long Keegan Smith will be out with his shoulder injury.
Lucky that they signed Scott Basalaj for the rest of the season and in time to play the next round of the cup
United lost today against Napier, conceded their 101st goal of the season after 14 games! Over 7 goals a game!
Massive game against Rapa next weekend, they'll have to do it without Acholl who was given his marching orders today for verbals.
West’s vs Napier on Sunday....anyone going? Should be a great game
Weather, family and motivation dependant
