From a non-neutral perspective (Petone) I thought the penalty call was probably harsh. Yes, the player got cleaned out but he came from nowhere to get between the defender and the ball at the last second.
On the whole the game was played in pretty good spirits until Rapa lost their cool in the last 30mins. From where I was standing all were valid cards. There were maybe two challenges I recall where a Petone player could have been booked and wasn't.
Despite the nonsense spouted above, Linney controlled the game as good as can be expected when one team decides to take cheap shots and swear constantly at the officials. People are also forgetting that in the first half Linney verbally warned players that if they continue to foul others that he would book them.
