guess they've mutually terminated the contract. 

It's a shame there isn't a solution where these young guys can be pros and play over winter. I guess that is the end goal when ASBP moves to the winter (although then the downside would be that fringe guys couldn't keep sharp with game time during A league season). 

It's an interesting situation. I can see the nix point of view where they want youngsters to become pros, and to get game time (which is good for the game), and can also see winter clubs point of view in how the nix are stepping on toes and breaking regs (which are there for a reason) if they play pro players.  

There is nothing wrong with McGarry playing if he has been through the stand down period though. 

It does seem like the nix should have been more careful not to piss people off though. Being a bit clearer with their intentions and actions would have gone a long way.
